I am trying not to get the normal tourist photos, I want to produce my own stuff, so I don't have as much stuff after two days that I thought I would

We did a walking tour of the Forum and the guide took our photos in front of different things. This girl from LA, was traveling Europe alone, She was part of our group and was a smoke show (the photographer/guide produced shite, I got my images from him last night)

I was taking long exposures of the Vatican and these people walk up and ask me to take their photo. Camera was all set up wrong, so I tell them to stand VERY STILL and I grab the shot. I ask her for her email and get her to type it into my phone, and I sent it to them. Technically, it is a bad photo, but I kind of like it

You start weird travel threads but your photography speaks for itself. Beautiful work as always. Enjoy Italy.

Love the first one.
When I think of the light in Rome, I think of gray stone and yellow stucco.....

If you cross the bridge in front of Castel Santangelo, going away from it, keep going down the street one block, than two blocks to the left.

I couldn't have picked a better spot

A cheap one that folds up and fits in my backpack. I have a Manfrotto head on it, but I left my Manfrotto tripod at home due to size and weight.

Finally, an antiquetiger Italy thread I can get behind!

I know I gave you a hard time over the copious number of threads you started about this trip, but I truly hope you enjoy yourself and keep posting pictures. I'll be heading to northern Italy in September for two weeks and am really looking forward to it.

When in September and where? I'll be at Lake Como September 13-14 and in Alba in Piedmonte September 15-19. Travel Board bottle of wine in Italy?

Ah damn we'll just be missing each other. We leave on the 23rd and will be there through Oct. 9th We're also going to Lake Como and Alba. We're actually going to be in Piedmont for a long weekend at the beginning of the Truffle Festival.

We will be in Italy for 16 days (15 nights) and bouncing from Milan to Lake Como to Florence via Modena then over to the Cinque Terre and finishing in Alba

Will be in Lake Como from 9/24-9/27 and Alba from 10/4-10/8.

Would love to read your thoughts on both places while you're there.

Will post them when I return. We get back the 28th. When you arrive we'll be in Gaiole in Chianti staying at the agrituorismo at our favorite vineyard there.

Then we're off to Capri for three days and Madrid for two before returning home.

The truffle festival should be awesome. Those white truffles fetch $$$$$$$$ at auction. We should be catching the tale end of the harvest festivals while we're there.

Well maybe I'll sneak some truffles home and sell them for a profit so I can finally get your approval and live near Bunker Hill versus the shithole that is the Navy Yard.
