Going for a couple days for a business trip in august.
Cheesesteak wise, where are the must go’s? Any other restaurant rec’s?
Also, is it safe to go to a Phillies game?
Thanks!

Geno’s and Pats King Of Steaks. Right across the street from each other.
Read the board and get the order right. Think soup nazi -

Definitely check out the Reading Terminal Market. Is basically a huge food court with local vendors in the middle of downtown. Herschels Deli is my go to but they have many, many options. All the Amish bakeries are also pretty solid (Beiler's Amish Donuts specifically).
Are you staying downtown? Take the train to the end of the line, which is the sports complex, it is definitely safe. Xfinity Live before games is a fun time.

This. And bring cash to the market.

I went to a Phillies game recently, it was a very pleasant experience. As far as cheesesteaks, they are overrated. Get the roast pork at DiNics in Reading as someone else said or go to John’s Roast Pork.

Angelo's has the best cheesesteak.
For roast pork I would go to DiNics in reading terminal or John's Roast Pork.
Yes the Phillies game will be totally safe.
I'm being Lazy to post a link to a top 50 restaurant list but this really does cover everything, pick something that looks interesting to you. LINK

This was going to be the centerpiece of my trip, food wise. I’ve been salivating over their instagram for months. The day we were supposed to go, the closed without notice for summer break. I may never recover.

There are better cheesesteak options than Pats/Genos. So overrated. Kinda like people telling you to get a hot dog from the Varsity in Atlanta.

Payroll Leaders Conference?
My wife is going and wants me to tag along. I came to this board to ask about Philly as well and saw your post.
The only things we know we want to do are: see a Phillies game on Sunday vs Natl's, Liberty Bell, Independence Hall, eat Cheesesteaks.

Agreed - frankly, you can probably find a better cheesesteak in Atlanta, but OP sounded like it’s a first-time to Philly and a trip to one of those is a must-do IMO.

Delassandro's Steaks were very authentic. A local had referred the place to me. Pat's and Geno's are a tourist trap.

That was the first one we went to and had heard it was the real but I was really disappointed. just dry and bland. Did you get whiz or no?
