MSY New airport terminal opening delayed until fall 2019

I was on Loyola at Vets last week, and I wondered how in the hell the terminal was going to open when the damn access road still isn't finished. Not surprised in the least at this latest delay.
The existing terminal is in terrible shape--I encountered dilapidated bathrooms, barely working drinking fountains, and an overall air of "who cares, it's closing" from staff.

Ugh. Was really looking forward to being out of the third world. Rumor was August 2019 but this says "fall" so who really knows.

Something that will never happen in NOLA.
Said to myself last week when I flew out that there was no way it would be ready for May opening.

Umm. Yes.... Drinking fountains with bottle fill spouts are in most airports (except NOLA). Reducing plastic waste.....look around next time you fly. Plenty of people flying with reusable water bottles these days.

I bring own water bottle and if you ask a barkeep they will fill it for free if you've had a drink

Im not sure if an airline offered me free airfare from MSY to anywhere in the contiguous US for Thanksgiving I would use it. That place is going to be an absolute zoo.
