Antarctica. You need to get to Argentina and then some $7000-10000, at a minimum. I don't have that.

I'm actually living and working over here for a year right now, but my work schedule makes any real travel impossible. Thankfully I'm in a suburb of Osaka, so even with having to stay local there's a ton of stuff to do.

But yeah, my wife and I met in Japanese class at LSU years ago when they still offered the subject, so we've been thinking about it for a little while.

Ya that was so in depth I figured you'd been there before. Living there I didn't expect.

I'm dropping by in a few weeks myself. Had booked a trip for 2020 before COVID happened.

Not nearly long enough a visit and certainly not as long as yours.

Micato Africa Safari. With extra stops in South Africa and maybe Seychelles, Mauritius, or Madagascar.

I’m not sure the where changes as much as the how.

yep! I'm prob still going to mountains in Colorado/Utah or the beaches in FL.

But if money is no issue, I am flying private and doorstep to doorstep.

am planning a trip for our 25 anniversary to Bora Bora and it is not crazy expensive. The over water bungalow resorts in the Caribbean are much more expensive. Only problem with Bora Bora is basically spending 2 days traveling there and then 2 days coming back.

A lot of the other super isolated island destinations are the same way. You can do a trip for 2 at a beautiful resort for 10k, but you spend 25% of your trip traveling, especially from a regional airport in the Eastern half of the US.

We are going to the St. Regis in October. Staying in LA 2 days first. I'm hoping the LAX-PPT won't be too bad as we leave LAX at like 11pm and arrive like 6am their time. Booked through Costco. 5 nights, 2 in premium economy LAX-BB. Breakfast and some sort of dinner included. $15.3k

Based on my wife's and my own interests, we'd take a ten week trip to Japan.

A three week trip in Japan during Fall is one of the greatest trips I've ever taken. I would highly, highly recommend Japan as a travel destination.

plum and cherry blossom viewing seasons if we did the later time frame.

Don't forget the blossom seasons depend on latitude. You could easily hit Korea for their blossoms, and transit your way through Japan for more viewings (I think the schedule moves north to south). However, the cherry blossoms in DC are just fine, I don't know that I'd stress about it. During the winter, the lights and Christmas decorations are pretty impressive in Tokyo. And, in the winter you have the festival in Hokkaido where they build massive dragons and other sculptures out of snow.

I do admire the ambition!
