We're going to Disney for a 10 day trip in July and trying to figure out what shoe to buy. We go multiple times a year and know the mileage that goes in on a daily basis. The last couple pairs have been Hoka Bondis twice, Brooks Ghosts twice and Ultraboosts. Thinking about switching it up to the On Cloud 5s but received mixed reviews from people I know that have them. The Hokas work well they're just ugly as sin. I usually go to Varsity Sports and let them give me their recommendations but with work I won't have time to make it there this time.

your trip is in July. Will you be around a fleet feet store? or any other similar shoe store that will help you get fit?

Or if those Hokas and brooks were recommended by Varsity, look them up on the respective websites and see what type of support they offer (cushion, stability, pronantion etc.) then find a similar ON shoe to try.

Just pick the ones with the highest melting point.

I live in Gonzales, right outside of BR. Varsity closes before I would be able to get there and looks like Fleet Feet in Metairie would too. I'm going to do some more research though on the respective websites though.

You’re going to Disney for 10 days. Only answer is plain New Balance sneakers to go with your cargo shorts and Disney T-shirt that you will swap out for your lsu shirt once it’s soaked in sweat.

I have a few friends that swear by Allbirds for everyday use. $105 for a pair.

They're usually going to push you towards Hoka/ON/Brooks because the reps are very active with them and try to push those sales.

However, I would go with whatever you're used to wearing for walking and just get a new pair of those. For brand new releases, you should be expecting to pay at least $120 for a quality shoe.

If you know you're a minimalist, neutral, or stability shoe person, just go with that and find a pair that looks good to you.

I recommend the Brooks. I love mine. My son is a cross country runner and wears Brooks too.

I'm probably on my 15th pair of Brooks, I love those shoes. Put 500 running miles on an pair and then get new ones, keep the old ones for running around town/working in the yard

You and your friends are the Allbirds reps, you're just not being paid.

I’d go with a brooks adrenaline gts. It’s a stability shoe and super padded/comfy.

I have 5 different pairs of All Birds. Have taken them on multiple trips to Europe. Some low and high top options. Very light and comfortable.

Ever try a hiking shoe instead of a running shoe? I wear my danners and can walk around all day.

Maybe go and get fitted by someone that knows shoes well or if you understand what you like and go to REI and then you can return them easy if they suck.

Agreed. I would add that if we expect some hiking, different terrains etc., then I will also take a pair of hiking shoes in addition to the All Birds. My current pair is KEEN.Good support. Waterproof. Love them as well.
