Gambling and sports betting is available in more places than ever before so I’m sure that hurts them.
Vegas will always be around but believe it’ll never peak above pre-Covid levels.

That’s not going to make a difference in the grand scheme of things.
If Vegas wants to get their tourism rates up, they’re gonna have to think outside of the box. Sports betting is being legalized in states all across the country and people can go to casinos less than 15 minutes from their homes. People don’t view it as the exclusive destination it once was and that’s why not as many of them are coming.
I like Vegas mostly because of the scenic state parks they have and its proximity to the Grand Canyon. I couldn’t give two shits about the strip.

The stories of Vegas' demise are greatly exaggerated. We go 2-3 times a year and barely gamble (so not following the degenerate comment). The last couple of times, my wife and I laughed at the thought "Vegas is dead", there were plenty of people. Also every time someone says there is no reason to go to Vegas, they completely neglect the city as a whole, focusing on one small part of it that they just dont like (and not liking the Strip is completely reasonable, no doubt). Vegas is like soccer and hockey, people who dont like soccer or hockey really want you to know they dont like them, and same with people who dont like Vegas.
Vegas has world class food and entertainment, world class outdoors at Red Rock, Valley of Fire, Lake Mead, Mt Charleston, all sports, awesome off strip properties like Durango and Red Rock if you dont like the Strip. Vegas is a great place and will be ok. I have a long time colleague at LVCVA, and they arent sweating mid tier cities trying to compete.

we have our annual 5-day work conference in Vegas every May. Last year was our 5th straight year and our planner said last year we will never come back to Vegas.
She booked Nashville for 2026 and then sent a notice in Dec its been changed to MGM Vegas.
I called her and she said they wouldn't leave her alone and begged her to come back to an MGM resort. They came back with an offer that was half of what Nashville was and something she couldn't say no to. The lady at MGM said they are being told to do whatever you have to do to get a booking.
People are tired of paying $100 for lunch and $10 for a water bottle. Couples and bachelor/bachelorette parties are now doing Austin/Nashville/Savannah/Scottsdale.

You may say its exaggerated, but the numbers show that its not in a good place at all. Especially with all the investment from international orgs over the past 5yrs. They are gonna have to pay for all that some way and it doesn't look like its going to be lower prices.
80% room occupancy for 2025, 75% so far this year. Gambling was up due to high rollers last year, but it is now trending down.
38.5m visitors in 2024 compared to 42.5 in 2019 pre-pandemic
A couple of casinos are in trouble. Resorts World is in real trouble and Caesars is looking to sell.

No doubt, that Caesars deal where Eldorado took control was a terrible deal. They need to sell some assets. I hold stock in VICI, the actual landlord to many Caesars and MGM properties. I like Resorts World and have stayed there, their management is bad and I must say for an international company to have as glitchy and bad of an app as they do should be embarassing to everyone at that company.

Never been and it looks nice, but sounds like piss poor management. Saw they laid off tons of dealers a few weeks back due to low foot traffic.
I think Vegas is at an inflection point. They need to quickly decide who their bread and butter is and go all in. Like others have said, online gambling is def impacting them, so if that is your main driver to vegas, why are you going to pay $500 to fly and $2-300 a night for what you can do at home now.

BS
Numerous news story’s including a 60 minutes not long ago on some of the mega resorts are not even 50% booked.

"Wait in more long lines to get access to substandard things you prepaid for."

Resorts World has responded and launched their own package for $150 a head that includes dining, breakfast, and a cocktail at their bar.

Meh, Vegas and Nevada generally is on fire. Wealthy people from Cali are pouring into the state. It is about to have pro football, baseball and basketball. Visitor numbers may be lower but the gambling handle is doing fine from what I hear. This is a state with no income tax in a highly underrated location.

Wow one more reason I never want to go back.

We stayed at resorts world Casino last year for the when we were young festival, and after 5 PM most if the blackjack tables were $100 minimum; the few tables that were $25/hand were full to the brim.
I lost count of how many $100 tables were open with not a single person sitting at them.

All true, but you will always get the "I only ever been to the Strip" crowd and they tend to overreact. Vegas is a solid city and region, but those who dont venture off strip will never know.
ETA: Dont forget VGK
