What's the best time of year to go? Assuming the summer?

September, after Labor Day. Crowds are gone and weather is still nice (although getting dark earlier than high summer).

I love Portland.

Holy Donut and Two Fat Cats are good if you need baked goods.

Underwhelming IMO.

Well, we have one in Boston now and I can go whenever I'd like, so I'll definitely skip it next time around. Keeping the recommendation for Honey Paw close, as I may be in Portland early next week for a day trip.

Spent a week in Maine in May. Cool but nice. Hit the local lighthouses. Lots to see and do. Portland is close to New Hampshire, so you can run across the border. Best is to head north up to Acadia National Park. Camden, Bar Harbour, Red's Eat's. Have fun!

Did you eat at Red’s Eats and if you did how was it?

We drove by it on the way to Portland and there was a large crowd in line. Just wondering if it is worth the wait ( in case we ever go back).
