Technically you’re banned from using taxis and public transportation until you get your two negative tests.

I doubt the uk can or will stop you if you meet the requirements to enter the USA.

Hopefully we text negative tomorrow. If so we’re outta here faster than Will Muschamp.

Good news is I no longer have to social distance in the hotel room

You were social distancing from your wife in a hotel room because she had a sniffle while you are triple vaxed? That’s the saddest thing I’ve read since COVID started.

I presume the reasoning he socially distanced was trying not to test positive so he could fly home

I did this right before you actually.

I tested positive on the 18th, but had some sniffles on the 15th so the 25th was my last day of quarantine and flew home on the 26th. I went for a wedding and don't regret it. I ate ubereats every single meal

What company did you use for the day 6 test or did you just go to a clinic?

Covidtest London. Little pop up on Bear Street off Leicester Square. £49.00 for rapid test.

And . . . Free at last! Sitting in the Virgin Upper Class Wing at Heathrow, drinking champagne and ready to go home. Wallet’s a good bit lighter but so is my heart. Mrs Bok is happy again, ready to get her new puppy, and loaded up with two new handbags.

I eagerly await the multi-post long trip review of every nook and cranny of that hotel room.

I guess the positive is you were at least in a nice hotel

Man that is a brutal trip, seems like you at least kept a positive attitude. I would have straight up lost my mind being stuck with my wife for that long

So you are ok with infecting everyone on the plane?

Looks like we’re trapped in the room for another 5-7 days.

Hotels in London are not cheap.

This is why I won't currently take a big international trip. It's too pricy for me to risk sitting in my room.

Depends on country. Of course, you can't enter US without a negative so that's the ultimate arbiter, but for example I have a friend stuck in Mexico at the moment. He's free to leave his hotel room. He's going to the beach. I don't see anything particularly wrong with that.

UK government knows you're positive so you're really cooped up until you're negative.

Uh no, nor would I be good with infecting everyone in London by breaking quarantine - which is why we stayed in our hotel room. We got our negative Covid tests and took the first flight back we could get.

We’re finally home. Quite the journey. I can confirm that a hotel room is a hotel room wherever you are.

What's the next country you want to visit a hotel in? Any plans for your next trip?

Mrs Bok says she just wants to stay home for a while.

I’ve already booked us for a return to the Maldives in late March early April. We went in July - figuring it was a low Covid risk trip - and had an amazing time. I’m not a sit on the beach person, so I thought I’d be bored. I was wrong.

Flying Qsuites on Qatar. Wanted to go back to the Nautilus. They tripled their prices so that is out. Going to their sister property at Milhaidoo. It’s very similar. Nautilus is more exclusive and everything is bespoke. I went on a diving excursion with a crew of four (instructor, boat captain and two guys to wait on me and help with my gear). It was ridiculous. Milhaidhoo has scheduled small group activities with some private options.

I have been toying with assembling a Scotland trip (2+ weeks, Orkneys & Iona included) in April or May.

This thread has taken the wind out of my sails…

We (no pics of her) love London but quarantining at Claridge’s or the Ritz would make my grandfather come back from the grave and kill me.

Glad you’re back and OK.
