Las Vegas: How easy is it to navigate The Strip?

I'll be going to Vegas this weekend with my wife, my parents, and my sister.
My parents are pros at Vegas but it will be my wife and I's first time. How easy/hard is it going to be to bounce around the Strip during the day? What's the best method of travel? I don't want to rent a car because I plan on drinking a lot.
We are staying at The Palazzo if that helps.

Other than the IP being next to Harrrahs, most of the cainsos on the strip are not close.

Can you walk one direction, and then walk the opposite direction later on?
If so, I think you can figure it out.

The high temperature is going to be about 105 every day I'm there. I'm not trying to walk for miles while drinking alcohol in that kind of heat.

take the tram, especially if you want to see the cool hotels on strip and the other hotels.
some hotels are miles apart

Define not close. They aren't exactly far apart either. I'm out of shape and even in the Vegas heat, it was easy walking between casinos.
It's easy to navigate the strip.

Just plan on walking for the most part if you are staying on the strip. Keep in mind - everything looks relatively close but once you get going it can be a hike. Sometimes it will take you 10-15 minutes just to get out of the hotels/casinos. Taxis are always at the hotels if you need to go further than you want to walk but usually walking is the most convenient.

It is hot and it does suck to walk far during the day. Everytime I've gone, if I wanted to walk the strip, I only did it if I got up extra early (and you can easily building hop from location to location for a good distance with only going outside a little bit, or did it at night.
Otherwise I take Cabs etc.

If you're a cheap bastard like me, check out the deuce bus.

I only do Vegas with a car. You can strategize your drinking.

As people mentioned, navigating the Strip is easy.
If anything, you have a better chance of getting lost inside a casino than getting between them.

They finally allowed LYFT (I think that's what it is) and UBER.
I've walked frm hte Fashion Mall to where the old Riveria is/was. It's not a short walk, and not one I would do in heat. But you should be fine going both ways about 1/2 that distance and get to see a lot of what you want to see. The Palazzo to Wynn certainly, and most don't go that far past the Wynn in that direction, and going to other way should easily be able to make it to maybe Bellagio. Farther than that, it's all about how you can withstand the heat, does your wife want to walk that far, and what kind of shape you're in.
I can tell you this, Las Vegas is one city where UBER and LYFT are significantly less than taxis.

Use the under used monorail. The strip is very easy to navigate. If you walk to the Stratosphere for some odd reason you've gone too far.

Sleep all day and party all night. The heat won't be so bad.

You dont have to bounce around
Just sit at the bar at The Encore and play 'Hooker / No Hooker'

The Palazzo (Venetian) is my favorite. All the rooms are suites. I find it easy to navigate the strip from there. Wynn is next door. Caesars and the Bellagio are an easy walk. Besides, your hotel is a major destination for people navigating the strip.

Depends on where you stay.
You can get to a lot of them with minimal walking outside
It is very hot
Even inside though, you will do a lot of walking
Every casino is like one big mall
First time I went to Vegas I did a lot more walking just to see everything
The times I've been since I primarily know where I want to go and know the landscape

Being near the north end of the Strip, you can easily visit the Venetian, Wynn/Encore. Take the monorail to visit the rest of the Strip properties on the east side. You can take the tram located in the rear of Bellagio to visit CityCenter. A lot of walking but you can stay out of the heat. Lift and Uber are great options. Stay away from the Deuce bus as you will stand in the heat waiting along with the unwashed masses.
As many have said, the Strip properties are located deceptively far from each other.

Going from one hotel/casino to the other is a super long walk. It looks close, in some cases they're right next door, but from entrance to entrance it's gotta be close to a mile. We always cabbed from place to place for that reason.
