Going to NYC in December and was wondering what's the best way to get from LaGuardia to Midtown Manhattan. It will be 4 passenger with luggage and wasn't sure if Uber was the best choice.
TIA..

We just went ... I hadn't figured out the Uber app quite yet and got "helped" by an Uber XL driver (step up or whatever from a "normal" Uber; we were just 2 passengers and once I figured the app out LATER, it estimated a charge of $35 or so for the 2 of us in a "normal" Uber vehicle). Charged me $75 bucks (yes I wasn't pleased as I didn't need a huge vehicle). It seemed like it took FOREVER to get there but we got to our hotel by about 2:45; got to LGA at about 130-145. BUT you'll probably need the size car that we had. Lady was nice and friendly enough.

On the way TO LGA from the TS area, the bellman set us up with a flat rate $45 cash/$50 credit vehicle; nice Ford Extended Expedition (or whatever it's called). Driver spoke little to no English. Four people and luggage would have easily fit in it. Left at 11:45ish and were AT our gate by 12:30. Could have stayed downtown doing things for another hour if not 2.

I'd recommend Uber or www.dial7.com

The in-flight magazine for the airline you are on will probably have an ad with a coupon code for NYC area car services. Just call them as soon as you land. They will add on tolls and may have surcharges if you are going at a high-traffic time. Need to add tip also.

I usually Uber for myself and set up a 7s car service for less technologically-inclined family members.

I've only flown into LaGauardia twice, but soon as you leave baggage claim there is a taxi stand, walk up and a guy puts you into a cab. It was a flat fee into Midtown. Can't get any easier than than.

2 weeks ago is was a Flat rate of $45 or $50 for a taxi. Uber is about $5 less and usually a little nicer.

There is a fairly new MTA bus service that picks up at all terminals.

Buy your subway/bus passes at the kiosk, get on the Q70 bus, get off at the Roosevelt subway station, take whichever train from there into Manhattan.

It's probably faster and basically free if you'll be using the subway all week anyway. I hate taking cars in NYC - underground is almost always faster.

Do the flat rate taxi, if you get traffic (90% of the time you will) Uber will end up more.

Flat rate from JFK to Wall St: $60
I just paid $120 plus for Uber last week

Few days late on this one, but I've always found the easiest, most cost-effective way into Midtown is flying into Newark and taking the Northeast Corridor (NJ Transit) into Penn Station.

Depends on the time of day. I've seen that taxi line snake back on itself three times.

We use Carmel Car Service at the recommendations of some friends in the area. They have a coupon online for airport transfers (but you do have to print and have it with you).
