My wife (no pics) and I are thinking about going for a long weekend to Key West in the middle of November.

We went several years ago, stayed at the Casa Marina and didn't leave the resort much. Considering staying at The Saint this time. Any thoughts?

Looking for some fun things to do that don't involve diving or fishing.

Thanks for the help!

I like staying away from Duvall. We like the suites at southernmost, you get access to both properties.

We go to dive. Sunset Cruise, drinking the day and night away on Duval, cruising in a golf cart all day, rent a car to the other ports of call close by. We like drinking and beach bumming around the marinas. Rent a boat for the day, charter fish, back county kayak, etc

Santa Maria Suites is a great boutique hotel. Green Parrot was favorite bar.

Check out H2O suites. On the quite side of Duval but you can still walk to everything. Great place.

If you like to Kayak or Stand Up Paddle Board, check out Laxy Dog. Just on the other side of the bridge. you can kayak through the mangroves.

We just got back last night, we stayed at a guesthouse(Mermaid & the Alligator) and loved it. Room was nice, grounds were nice, has a pool, breakfast in the morning was great. I’d recommend it, we drove there and brought our bikes so we were never more than and ~5 minute ride from everything.

We kind of bounced around for food, hitting a few happy hours but for meals my favorite places were Santiago’s Bodega(tapas) and we had some really good tacos at Amigos(across from Captain Tony’s). Louie’s Backyard was good but I felt the food was better at Santiago’s and we could have eaten there 3 times for what Louie’s ran us.

We did a charter trip while there and used Reel Therapy Charters/Jim Peabody off of Big Pine Key after a friend had used him and recommended him a couple months ago, he offers offshore trips and inshore/flats trips. We did a half day offshore and ended up with 25 yellowtail snapper, had a good time, and would recommend using him to anyone interested.

He also lives in Key West and offered to pick us up/drop us off back in Key West before/after the trip in the event you don't have a vehicle.

Went last month for a long weekend. Had been many times before so we decided to do different things this trip. Stayed at Simoneton Court one block of Duval in the old Tobacco Plantation House (recommend). Of course day drinking, shoping, Duval etc. But we hit the beach one day (fort taylor), evening sunset cruise with Sebago, Tapas at Santiago Bodego, Dinner at Lattitudes on Sunset Key just to name a few things. Rent bikes.....best way to see the town. Also did Hemingway House tour. Very interesting.

Like others have said sunset cruises are fun. As mentioned before alas bike rental is great way to cover the entire island. You have to eat an obligatory slice of key lime pie.... I stayed at the Waldorf on the southern end of Duval, far enough away from the noise yet walking distance to most everything... light house tour is short but nice... sunset pier....

Another +1 here for sunset cruise. We booked through Fury and had a great time. The food and drinks were alright, but for $60 per person, it's a great value. If you're into some spicy margaritas check out 308 agave as well.
