Pre-booked most of our transfers for the three weeks we were there

On our trip to Spain in May we used private drivers instead of renting cars. It was no more expensive than renting as car rentals in Europe are very expensive right now. We got to ride in luxury with no stress.

I just booked a driver for the airport to the hilton.. We'll manage however in Florence and Milan. I'm not too worried about those two cities. I just remember Rome being a cluster when I was there a decade ago.

My Daytrip Dot Com

We used them for a daytrip from Seville to Ronda, a private transfer from Seville to Malaga and a ride from Madrid to Toledo and then Toledo to Madrid. They were great. The first car was a Mercedes 500 series sedan. Every vehicle was very nice.

We are 5-6 nights into our 15 day trip. It has been a crazy adventure. First United canceled our MSY to IAD flight. We rescheduled earlier and planned to sit in IAD for 6 hours instead of 2. Their Polaris lounge is very nice. Then IAD to BRU was delayed 3-4 times and sat more on the tarmac. So we missed our BRU to NAP. Sat in BRU for 10 hours to take 2 Alitalia/ITA flights and land in NAP at 11pm. Missing our transfers even though they had our flight #. They were BIG PISSED! All of our luggage was lost and it was then midnight in NAP. We cabbed to a comfy hotel near the centrale and ordered delicious delivery of pizza. In the morning we went back to the airport and found 2 bags but not my mom's. Headed to vietri with plans to go back again to NAP then the taxis struck overnight. Hired a driver and ALL went back to NAP for luggage which was found and said screw it. Vietri stay wasn't actually in Vietri it was way uphill and bed had ants. No thanks. Revived ourselves at a very nice Hilton property in NAPLES and caught our scheduled train to Rome. So here we are in Rome. Missed the Amalfi coast almost entirely due to strikes, luggage, ants and delays, but comfy and determined to be back on track. Took the Pristine Sistine this am and it was wonderful! Thanks to whoever suggested the early tour. We'll see the colosseum tonight and enjoy ourselves here for a few days before we train to Florence for 6 nights. Any suggestions to make up for missing amalfi are welcome. The cinque terre tours from Florence are LONG and honestly I kinda hate tours unless they are necessary.

We went to the Cinque Terre from Florence with a rental car. Left early in the morning and got back late at night. It was a long day but worth it. We parked by the La Spezia train station and caught the train for the short ride to Riomaggiore. We went to all five towns and hiked about 50% of the trails. Absolutely spectacular.

I am sorry you missed Amalfi but the CT is the next closest thing you will get.
