State, good chance we end up on the same flight to Dfw I've been watching waivers also..

American hasn't posted any updates since yesterday afternoon and I kind of need them to get it together. I'm for sure not going to Corpus on Monday but it would be nice if they could go ahead and post the waiver...

American really is one of the worst with the waivers. Last year with the flooding I got extremely pissed off when people on here were telling me they called AA once their house got flooded/they couldn't make it to the airport and AA tried to charge them $250 per person to change/cancel their ticket because they hadn't posted a waiver.

Cuse: If I can somehow make it to my 2nd leg of my flight - DFW to Reno (i.e. drive to Dallas), how can I handle that with the airline? Will they allow me to miss my first leg if I get approval from them first? Will they give approval?
Thanks again

united just adjusted their waivers

I just woke up and was checking all the airlines. United is the only one who has updated and they include today through Tuesday. Anyone supposed to go through IAH on Monday get rebooked now while there are still seats!

This is possible but you're going to have to find a very helpful agent in order to do this.

Update: Delta finally updated their waivers to include Sunday and Monday but only for Houston/Austin/ San Antonio people. Will continue to be on the lookout for LA waivers
ETA: Southwest updated their reservations to include Tuesday as well, but only for Houston/ TX areas

Just got notice my flight out to Dallas today is delayed 1hr. Surely this can't be hurricane related right?

Unlucky for you, your plane routing was Dallas - Houston - Dallas - St. Louis - Nola - Dallas. It was about an hr late out of Dallas to Houston this morning hence the delay just piling on for the rest of the afternoon. I think DFW area is actually getting some tstorms today so not quite hurricane problems just normal weather issues

Ok I was looking at it and thought the plane was just sitting in St. Louis

You know if you want you could get rebooked on the 3:30pm flight to Houston or Austin, connect with about 50 minutes, and get into Dallas at 6:30pm. Changing to a connecting flight in a hurricane sounds fun right?
ETA: Just kidding, the HOU-DAL and AUS-DAL flights are both delayed, stick with the original

i did stick with the original, but i bumped my Sunday departure up to 12:55. That flight originates in Amarillo so I think i should be fine on Sunday

this is probably a stupid question, but now that im addicted to flightaware i've noticed my flight plan for tonight has us flying SE Texas where the weather is. Do they just change flight plans in this case? Like i'm not going to get delayed because they have to fly through this weather to get there?

Flight plans change all the time and aren't usually updated/set in stone until you're already on the plane. Even once you're in the air they can change drastically. What I usually do is look at the flight plan for the flight right before mine, so in this case this one. It basically just took a straight shot to Dallas. For your flight, if the winds are really strong from the houston area this afternoon, you may actually end up going that far before heading north (pick up a good tailwind)

Update: American has posted their waiver through Tuesday. I know some of you are flying from Lake Charles on Monday and this is included. If you need assistance looking for the right flights to rebooked on, please feel free to ask (have an expertflyer account ready to look).

I am in London right now and have a United Flight leaving Heathrow scheduled to head back to Baton Rouge on Sunday, connecting through IAH. Any ideas for me on how to get home?
