Double check with the OT, theyre more up-to-date on the road cloasures. That routing was just what i came up with looking for nonclosed roads, one of them may be flooded but only the houston people will know. Tell your friend to leave very early, anticipate it taking longer than expected. Also enjoy your trip

Just landed at LAX. I mentioned our route earlier, but have you seen any issues with the DFW-BTR leg, landing at 9:30?

New plan, now she is going to drive to Austin tomorrow and fly round trip to/from Austin. 
the saga continues!
ETA: Well, she couldn't find a good return flight to Austin (one that didn't have her landing at 8:30 PM) so now we're back to the drawing board. Any ideas?

At this point it doesn't have to be Southwest. She's flying back Monday.
eta: she'd like to fly into Lafayette Monday if possible

I've been obsessively checking both Southwest and flight aware all day and see that our Southwest flight #5763 from MSY to Denver is still on for this evening. I guess we won't really know till we board and take off but it does look ok for a departure tonight.

Well. She's pulling the plug. Everything not Southwest is too expensive. :( is there any Southwest option she could take?

Sorry for the delay, had to run around this afternoon. If she was booked on southwest, they state on their site that she can be rebooked free of charge to leave from austin or san antonio. On southwests site they have a nonstop from austin open tomorrow at 1245pm SWA 1981 arriving 155pm. On monday, she can fly back at 245pm arriving austin 550pm.
The problem with lafayette is southwest doesnt fly there. Shes gonna have to book a ticket for a flight less than 3 days out and its gonna be too much $$$

Wind? Its not really bad here, but the gusts seem to be about 30mph? Maybe their crews are out of place as well
Eta: Ah i know the answer. It's because they only fly from IAH on E145s. Those are the first flights to cancel when weather is bad and especially with the flooding, it may be until saturday or sunday by the time the flights are operating

Well everything has gone well in our getting out of MSY tonight on southwest as we are getting ready to board. No lines at all.
