How to get out of a Westin timeshare presentation quickly?

Have one coming up in an hour in Cabo. I'm dreading it. They say it's for 90 minutes, but I've heard they can keep you there for hours.

“Am I being detained or am I free to go?”

Fart audibly a couple of times, grab your stomach and leave.

Say "Oh, that's what this is? frick that."
Walk out.
Walk out.

Why did you agree to it in the first place?

We did one w Hyatt awhile back. It was actually a great program because it guaranteed like 40% off rates at all Hyatt properties, but we weren’t in any financial position to join.
Just stick to your guns and say no. At 90 minutes, walk out.

I set my phone timer for 90 minutes as soon as they greet and say politely, after 90 minutes I’m leaving. They will ask if you have plans for after the presentation, don’t say yes or no just say when the timer gets to 0, I’m leaving.
We were very upfront with our salesman. Told him we weren’t going to buy and didn’t want to waste his time. Also told him that we have the highest status at Marriott properties because of my husband’s constant travel for work so there isn’t any benefit for us. He eventually figured out that he couldn’t break us and we were out in less than an hour.
If you Google search the timeshare, you’ll see lots of negative reviews to help keep you on the path of not buying.

Because they normally offer something of monetary value that's perceived to be more than the 90 minutes it takes to hear the sales pitch. OP, if you want the "bonus" just sit through it, answer their questions and just make something up like you found out layoffs were coming to your company and can't take the financial commitment you expected to when you signed up for the offer. They'll likely push, likely be an arse, just ignore it, repeat yourself over and over with the same reasoning and eventually they'll give up. When you hit 90 minutes and have met your commitment make sure you complete whatever documentation they have and leave. But in short, if you agreed to a decreased rate or something similar you aren't getting out the sales pitch unless you want to just pay whatever the normal rate was.

Why someone agrees to this BS just to get a few peanuts will never make sense to me

They can be worth it, but only if it's a significant discount applied to the current trip you are on, and you have the free time to waste. Agreeing to do one based on a future free or discounted future trip is never, ever a good idea.

Many of the offers can be worth thousands and for some, that's at least cashews or almonds not peanuts.

I know this is late, but you should tell them you that you already have a bankruptcy attorney and are about to file . They won't want to deal with that,
You can also just tell them no, they know most people are there for the free stuff.

Just say you aren’t going to do it. Don’t give them a reason other than you just aren’t interested. If you say you can’t afford it or whatever they’ll just make it a negotiation.
Tell them you aren’t interested with zero emotion. The smart salespeople will not waste their time trying to squeeze blood from a stone, though no guarantee you’ll get one wise enough to realize this.
