Trying…Geaux Tigers
Agreed, but the electronic issue and possibly a transmission issue is the reason we traded it in.

Driven 2 Sequoias for 7 years and over 200,000 miles each. Currently have a 2013 Tundra that I don’t think we will ever part with.

Toyotas are beasts
Because the OT thinks anyone who doesn’t keep a vehicle for 10 or more years is an idiot. Empty nesters that lived below our means for 20 years so we could have a good time. I didn’t mean to come off as bragging just like hey we’re not upside down in negative equity.
Not that you should really care because you’re not buying them for me…..

1st one (paid off) and drove for 4 years, the screen was going out and traded for exact same GX (just newer) 2nd one paid off within 6 months). 3rd and current was a because it’s a fine arse SUV. Bought it in September and paid it off in January. I will keep this one for 10 years most likely.
I have a black GX 550 with the Luxury+ trim. She is a phenomenal vehicle, fantastic ride. This is my 3rd GX and I’ll drive her until the wheels fall off.

Only thing I haven’t been fond of is that you can’t move the 2nd row captain’s chairs back.

Expensive, hell yes she is but damn if she ain’t a bad bitch…

Pirate? Know of the family but don’t get the reference….
Thank you!

Going to have to try it. Been a long time since I made a no bake cheesecake.
Any chance you could post the recipe?
Jalapeño Popper Dip:

2 blocks of softened cream cheese
1/4 cup of mayo
2 of the 4 oz cans of diced green chiles, drained—I use a 4oz of Hatch Hot and a 4 oz of Hatch Mild
1/3 cup of diced jalapeño peppers—I measure with my heart and since I use the jarred kind, I add a little of the juice. If using fresh jalapeños you may want to only do a couple depending on your heat preference.
2 generous cups of freshly grated Colby Jack or cheese of your preference

Combine and bake at 375 for about 30 min covered and the 15 uncovered. You can top with panko crumbs for last 15 minutes if you prefer. I find it makes too much of a mess and tends to burn so I leave it off.

I slice a fresh loaf or two of baguette bread to serve.

I set my phone timer for 90 minutes as soon as they greet and say politely, after 90 minutes I’m leaving. They will ask if you have plans for after the presentation, don’t say yes or no just say when the timer gets to 0, I’m leaving.

We were very upfront with our salesman. Told him we weren’t going to buy and didn’t want to waste his time. Also told him that we have the highest status at Marriott properties because of my husband’s constant travel for work so there isn’t any benefit for us. He eventually figured out that he couldn’t break us and we were out in less than an hour.

If you Google search the timeshare, you’ll see lots of negative reviews to help keep you on the path of not buying.

Apply apple cider vinegar to a cotton ball or cotton pad then tape it over the wart or skin tag—leave overnight. May take a week or so but it works.

re: My Mom is Slipping.

I’m so sorry. We’re going through the same thing with my mom.

She’s seeing Dr. Chachere in Houston. He saw her, ordered lab work, an MRI, and she did an at home test that was emailed to her. During her follow up visit, he thoroughly discussed her results and gave us options. She has a virtual visit with him on Monday because he likes to follow up after the patient and family have had time to process the information and think about the next steps.

Both are trashing your lungs. I’m sure there is a Respiratory Therapist that will provide a better explanation than I can, but the heated oil from the vape is inhaled and sticks to the aveolar sacs (critical for oxygen-carbon dioxide exchange).

We’re seeing popcorn lung in people who vape.

Like previous posters have said, we will know more in 20-30 years, but I think vaping is damaging lungs faster.
I make a lemon blueberry cake

1 box cake mix—I use Pillsbury Lemon Supreme
1 small box of instant lemon pudding
3/4 cup of oil
3/4 cup of whole milk
1 tablespoon of vanilla
4 beaten eggs
Blueberries (I toss mine in flour)

Glaze:
2 cups of powdered sugar
2 Tablespoons of melted butter
2 Tablespoons of water
1/3 cup of fresh squeezed lemon juice

Preheat over to 350
Prepare a 9x13 glass dish
Combine ingredients for cake, bake for 35 min (maybe longer depending on your oven) start checking for doneness at 30.
Prepare glaze while cake is baking. Once cake is done, poke holes with a fork and pour glaze over hot cake.

Easy to make and is great the next morning with a cup of coffee!

There aren’t many great seafood options in Charlotte.

I do love the Biloxi Shrimp at Beef N’ Bottle (oldest steakhouse in Charlotte and it has character). You need to make reservations.

Mert’s Heart & Soul for fried chicken since Price’s Chicken Coop closed.

Midnight Diner

I second Midwood for BBQ. Noble Smoke is good too.

Philly isn’t bad for a long weekend. As other posters have said, lots of historical sites.

The Reading Terminal Market, specifically DiNic’s and the Victor Cafe are must do’s when we’re there.

The Victor Cafe was the restaurant Adrian’s in Rocky Balboa and Creed I and II. The waiters are all singers for the Philadelphia Opera and every 20 minutes they will sing for the patrons. Cool experience and they have a nice but tiny lounge upstairs.

I’ve had good luck with the Cuisinart single swerve coffee maker. It’s about $150 and will probably be going on sale for Black Friday.

I was going through a damn Keurig every year too.

We eat at the one in Charlotte frequently.

Apps— prosciutto wrapped mozzarella, the crab cake is good (I get that for my entree sometimes), the Grand Plateau if you’re doing it up.

Can’t go wrong with the Burrata, wedge, or Caesar.

The bone in Ribeye is phenomenal as is the Filet.

The Lobster Mac is life changing, no other way to put it. Beats Steak 48, Ruth’s and Del Friscos. Creamed spinach is also on point but not the best I’ve had at a steakhouse.

Dessert—Flourless Chocolate Espresso Cake, Coconut Cream Pie, or Cream Brûlée depending on what you like.

You’ll get good service, good drinks, and you won’t leave hungry.

Safe travels and I hope you enjoy the Saints game.
