I live in Monroe. Have some friends in town from Oklahoma. They aren’t stay out late people so I know if the curfew is in effect it won’t bother them. Is it worth it for them to go down early next week for a couple of days? They will want to experience the quarter and uptown. I’m assuming things are open.

We went Over Mardi Gras
It was fine
Just check any restaurant hours at that time most were still closing fairly early or had weird hours
Maybe that’s changed recently

Thanks. They have never been and didn’t want them to go down if it was open.

I love New Orleans but what it has become is really sad. You could argue that New Orleans was once the greatest city in the US. Such a seedy element roaming the French Quarter and Bourbon right now.

Of course. Had some great NOLA trips, some terrible ones. The greatest are before the summer heat and humidity and away from FQ. There are some great things to do that don’t revolve around spending the entire time around FQ.

There was a shooting on Bourbon the last time we went, a few weeks ago. Kids were 15 or 16 years old roaming around with guns.
Not the same crowd that we are used to seeing, and it has pretty much ruined it for me.

The city has felt like normal for the past few weeks. Crowds downtown were much more normal (i.e. touristy). Enjoy!

The absolute worst thing is alcohol sales cutting off at 11pm. Walked out of the pelicans game at 10:30 got back to CBD/casino area as quick as we could last night and everywhere had already cut off sales. Just an absolute wet fart ending to the night. I won’t be returning to the city until that shite ends.
