I’m getting married in October and we can’t put our finger on a honeymoon destination. We want to go out of country to a beach vibe setting. Planning to spend I’m guessing 5-7k for this. Ideas about where to look and where not to look? Experiences?

How long of a trip? How far are you interested in flying? Does that budget include flights?

There's hundreds of all inclusive resorts in the Caribbean that would fit. Just pick a county and go from there.

If you want something a little further away, I'd check out:

Ibiza, Spain
La Maddalena Archipelago, Sardinia
French Riviera

We did 12 days in the Philippines and did a 5 day stop over in Tokyo on the way back. So total 17 days. We spent in the 5-7k range, but probably closer to 7k. Check out noa noa island in the Philippines, it’s a small private island that is amazing. Probably the best place I’ve ever stayed and I’ll probably never stay anywhere better. We spent a few days in coron, el nido, and noa noa island.

St. John. Don't do all-inclusive. Get a jeep and explore. It's a much better experience.

Great options, but I don't know if that budget will be enough.

Wife and I did Rio and then to Buzios by car hire which was great. Just rented a Gator type vehicle and went to all of the beaches in Buzios.

Not sure where you live, but I would focus on direct flights. Can you fly to Caribbean direct? I assume the honeymoon will immediately follow the wedding so an October trip?

ETA...check out Turtle Inn in Belize. Fiancé and I went there on our first international trip together and got our own sea front villa 20’ from the water. Outdoor shower, personal space, couples massage, etc...it was great. Ask for villa #21. All in, it’s under your budget.

It is not all-inclusive. If I remember correctly, we paid around $5K. And that includes flights to the property, food and drinks while there, massage and other activities, 4 night stay in a sea front villa.

How was the food?

And do you leave property at all?

Food was really good. Several different restaurants including a moonlit table on the beach just a few yards from the water.

Apparently Belize claims to be the inventor of Creole cuisine so it was a bunch of shrimp, fish, lobster with rice.

They have bicycles you can use to ride into town which does have some neat stuff. At least enough to spend an afternoon and have an evening. “The Narrowest street” in the world has a ton of little shops for souvenirs. Their version of a snowball, decent beach bar, etc. Everything in town is super cheap where as the resort was a bit pricey.

It is a Coppola resort so that was all the wine they carried which wouldn’t be that bad if it was cheaper. If you are really interested, I could post some photos

Check out Little Dix Bay in BVI. It was being renovated before hurricanes a couple of years ago and had to be redone again but I think it may be open. May be pricy but BVI is nice.

St. Lucia, Sandals Grande Resort. We went 8yrs ago for 5 nights for our honeymoon and to date its the best vacation I've ever taken. After 5 days I was still not ready to come home like I was when I went on a cruise and for a buddy's wedding in the Dominican

We went in the city for a day too, get some local food which was great. Did a boat tour, good times

Little Dix Bay is closed until at least September. Bitter End Yacht Club is also still closed.

I can't recommend Belize enough. Great prices for what you get. Still developing so some parts there are raw, but I like that over going to a prestine place. We did a week at Copal Tree Lodge in the very south in the jungle and then a week at Coco plum island off the coast. Cocoplum was a great little island if you just want to chill and not be in a big resort. All able to be in budget plus traveling around belize on single engine aircraft is always a plus.

I think they are still rebuilding. I know Bitter End is nowhere close to opening. It's tough to get resources out there.

Portugal. Very cheap, great food and places to go and see. If you’re in a big easy coast city you can probably get a direct flight to Lisbon or Porto. Train access up and down the coast
