I've written a good deal in past reviews (in the sticky), so this is mostly pics. But I will tell you that even more places are moving to cash only. So bring cash....and plenty of it. This is a sign that is becoming more prevalent since this last hurricane season took its toll on many vendors on Isla. So get used to seeing this sign EVERYWHERE.

Now, onto the pics.

This dude was at Lola Valentino and you would have sworn a full contemporary jazz band was playing by just listening to him. He was frickING incredible. Jesus Campuzano is his name.

We stayed at Hotel Villa Kiin...no frills but right on the beach.

I'm fascinated by this charming little island. We took a day trip here last summer while visiting Playa. I want to return and stay this summer. Just have to figure out where to stay.

Were there storms while you were there? Playa Norte usually doesn't have that much seaweed.

Many folks stay at hotel secreto because it is the most modern Hotel on the island, however we prefer na balam because it is right there on the beach and in the heart of everything. It has a Balinese/Tahitian feel to it, beds and cabanas to rent on the beach and is teeming with throngs of beautiful Spanish, Argentine and and Brazilian women in tiny bikinis.

Seaweed was tell me how many in one area about 50 yards long, they are still in the process of rebuilding the beaches and the seaweed prevents the current from taking away the beach they have restored

Just saw where the seaweed is. The current there is minimal. That’s the area of the beach right around the point from Hotel Secreto. There’s always seaweed there mostly due to the buildup of sand on the point which was enlarged after the storms. The sand shifted and that little area is a catch basin now. At that point and all the way to Ballyhoo the sand is generally pristine as is the water.

Great pics. Based on the frequency of this location on the travel board, I should be adding it to the list.

Just booked a last minute trip over Easter weekend (4 nights) and also staying at Villa Kiin. This will be our second time on the island; we went last November and stayed at Mia Reef.

Will send some updates and reviews post-trip in a couple weeks.
