Just me and the wife. What are some good bars, things to do? We scheduled this last minute so haven’t had a chance to plan much.

The Porch for craft beer and a cool, Nola-esque vibe.
Green Parrot for live music and Dark & Stormys.
Schooner Wharf, good all around place.
White Tarpon for a Key Lime Martini
Stop in Sloppy Joe's and Capt. Tony's just to check it out, get a Sloppy Rita, leave.

things to do

Mallory Square sunset celebration
Mel Fisher Museum
Florida Keys Eco Discovery Center
West Martello fort, KW Garden Club
Wyland Gallery
Jet Ski Tour
Fishing
Go to Fort Zach Beach, walk around the fort/trails then take a dip. Bring water shoes or you're gonna have a bad time.
Ghost Tour is campy and fun
Get a scooter and booze cruise around
Would HIGHLY recommend a trip to the Dry Tortugas if your schedule allows, it's pretty incredible.

Cracked conch at the Conch Shack
Blackened Hogfish sandwich at the Hogfish Grill
Louie's Backyard for nice dinner
Sunday Brunch at Dante's (bring your swimsuit)
Cuban Coffee Queen
Half Shell Raw Bar
Cubano at El Siboney

Red Garter Saloon, ask for Minxx

Eat at Seven Fish, hang out on the porch and have a few craft beers at Cork and Stogie and get free hot dogs and cheap drinks at The Chart Room. Dry Tortugas is beautiful and an awesome experience.

Float Plane to Dry Tortugas

Was the highlight of our KW trip, half day is all you really need.

Read Torpedo Juice by Tim Dorsey on your way there. There's an audiobook available if you're driving. He's a Carl Hiaasen/Dave Barry-style writer and the characters hit all of the best places there. Pretty entertaining book, too.

I live in KW and work weekends at a place mentioned and I think most of the advice on he thread is bad.
Yes most everything on Duval Street is within a few blocks of each other. It’s easy to hit sloppy joes, capt tonys, hogs breath and a few others within a few cocktails. The food at them is pretty bad I’d think. I never ate at Pat O’Brien’s but it’s similar I would think in that comparison. Just not places I go for food.
The Green Parrot is by far the best live music authentic late night bar on the island.
I would not ride a scooter for a weekend of free drinks. One person a week is killed on one and it’s usually not their fault. A few others get messed up pretty well. Even biking during the day requires a certain amount of urban biking street smarts and a defensive posture. It’s so small you can walk or uber. There is nowhere but the ER to take the scooter. For whatever reason tourists find it fun to get loaded and bar hop on scooters. Like I said one a week dies.
It’s more of a day drinking spot. It’s not much of a late night town. In fact you won’t see many people under 40 out anywhere. Very few people are under 25. It just doesn’t have a college campus nearby in any significant way.

I enjoyed drinking too much at Rick's, and sobering up on Pizza from (Angelina's?) next door. Schooner's Wharf was a cool spot too. It's all very walkable.
