someone posted about this on the OT a while back, just tried it this weekend.
on the back of your TWIC in the lower lefthand corner is an 8-digit number. when you book a flight, enter this number in the "known traveler" field under your name/address/etc. when you print your boarding pass, it will print with the TSA Precheck symbol on your pass
came in pretty handy at the Denver airport free-for-all sunday night

Good tip.
Something I recently realized is that my Global Entry expires at the end of the year. After 5 years you have to renew. There are probably a lot of people that need to renew this year. It's been awesome to have I've got my calendar marked for the renewal.

Renewal is extremely easy by the way.

I thought I’d have to go in for another interview but they just sent me a new card. It took 7 months though. I filled out my renewal in August and got the new card in March.

I can't recall if I was trying to get the new card. I've only used it on the Canadian border once so it's not a big deal.
The renewal took like 30 minutes for me online.

the only caveat is that if you are traveling with your spouse or other, they can’t go thru precheck with you. I explained to my wife yesterday as we approached the mile long line that I needed to confirm that I could go thru the express lane for science and for the travel board
I beat her to the gate by 40 minutes

Not sure if it’s a differently styled known traveler number than people that go thru the dedicated screening process for PreCheck.
I signed up for PreCheck years ago and every time I booked my wife/kids on the same itinerary we all got PreCheck approval.
Since then the wife and I have both gotten Global Entry and love it.

maybe so, I might have done it wrong but I know the precheck symbol didn’t print on her pass, and the gal in New Orleans told me I had to go alone (so I didn’t)
Maybe if I put the number on her reservation too it will work I’ll try that next time

I've had this happen on my last 2 trips with my wife. I used to enter my KTN when booking flights and she would always get precheck. The last couple times we've flown (since Oct. 2020), she no longer shows up as Pre-Check when I book on the same itnerary. This last trip 2 of the 3 passengers on our itnerary had KTN and she still didn't get it.
ETA... I forgot to include that I think I read somewhere that it's also up to the airline if they will allow every one in the intnerary to receive it.

I think they changed this law. I think that every passenger flying must have the pre check to go through precheck. You cannot have someone blanketed by yours.
Also, in whatever app you have you can enter that number on the left corner of your card. You won't have to have the attendant do it at the counter. The tickets will print with "TSA PRE" on them. I just recently found this out in the past year and have used it countless times.

Same experience on my end. Anyone booked on my KTN used to get precheck as well. That changed a few months ago.
After my wife had to wait almost an hour in the general security line in Orlando, we signed her up for TSA precheck as well. Well worth the $17 per year.

thanks for clearing that up
I’ll sign her up for pre or maybe just get her a TWIC which is much easier to do than it used to be. There’s an ID place on Siegen that does all that stuff pretty quickly

Yea we have one in Nola that pumps them out pretty quick. I had to get my wife to get it. I was tired of when we flew together having to wait in the regular folk line with all the plebs.
She did the TSA pre route and it took about 5 days to have her application reviewed and accepted.
Once I got hers we went in to every airline we would fly and updated our 'profile' with the KTN. Like I said it makes it so much easier to have your boarding pass on your phone show the TSA pre than have to go to the counter every time.
