And I'm awfully excited.

Planned this out for a while and wanted to get it early in the year so as to have it most of this year and all of next year.

Even better is it coincides with Southwest announcing they're starting Hawaii flights this year. I sure hope they don't have any flight restrictions for these, because it will definitely be on the ticket next year.

Anyone else have the Companion Pass before? And how much value do you think you got from it?

It's insane to think for the next 2 years my gf and I will basically take anywhere from 5-8 round trip flights absolutely free (using SW points & companion pass).

A rough estimate tells me this will be worth at least $3,300 when it's all said and done.

I have earned it twice 2017-2019. My wife and son have benefited greatly from it. Took my wife to San Diego, LA, San Antonio, Orlando, Charleston, and Jacksonville. Took my son to the LSU game in Phoenix. It’s worth more than the $3000 if you travel a lot.

Nice. Did you find yourself traveling more than usual to take advantage of it? Or just your normal travels?

Girlfriend has it and it’s great. We take weekend trips for any reason. Baseball game in Denver, new restaurant in Charleston, broadway play in NYC.

Any reason to travel now is great. Free flights on her and free hotels on my Marriott account.

This is exactly what I'm excited for. Random wknd getaways that we didn't really plan. Might as well make the most of it.

I’d use it for this alone. Again and again and again....

I wouldn't think they would have any restrictions on the Hawaii flights. They don't have restrictions on their international flights.

I go to Charleston at least once a week for work and I wish I got as excited as this board gets about it.

I do love Charleston though.

I have had one since last October for my wife. We take weekend trips to Napa, Los Angeles, Denver, Phoenix ,Boston and even Houston.. I use points to buy my ticket and she flies free. I use hotel points and rental car points.

I've used it with her about 6 times so far. It's good for her this whole year. I don't think I'll travel enough this year to renew it but next years schedule looks busy enough to qualify for it again.

I really hope they do another promotion next year for free companion pass with a new SW Reward Visa. I don't have much travel planned this year, so I didn't take advantage of it, but we have a good deal planned for next year. Lot of weekend trips perfect for it.

looks like it is possible to get this pretty easily if you have a business. get the business card and the personal card. signing up gets you 100000 points if you spend 1000 on personal and 3000 on business in 3 months. then you just need to spend anothr 10000 between the two accounts to get the companion pass.

Am I missing something?

I don't have a business, and last time I checked I didn't really spend enough annually to qualify on the personal card. That was a few years ago though, so maybe they've changed the program. I'll check.

I know, but it was just good for this year. We don't really have any travel planned this year, so likely would not have used it much. We do have some planned next year where we would use it, so I'm hoping they run the promotion again next year.

Nope, that's exactly what I did.
