I’m looking for suggestfor my son (12) and I for a 4-5 day getaway in late February. We’re open to pretty much anything in the US with a 3-4k budget. Thanks

I hear DC is nice this time of year.

I kid, I kid. Y'all enjoy skiing, snowmobiling, hiking? Might suggest out west like utah, wyoming or montana.

My dad and I did atlanta a few years back, really enjoyed the aquarium, coke facility, and a braves game.

I’m in Louisiana. My son is into history, museums, beaches, and we are both more than comfortable in the outdoors fishing and hunting. He’s working on a list and so far has:
Key west
San Antonio
DC
Fly fishing somewhere in Ga
Vegas- addicted to pawn show
We’d go anywhere in tge us as far as our 3-4k budget and $200 in flight credits will take us

My kid loves baseball, hoping to take him to spring training for a few days for a father son trip one year.

I would go to the Keys and fish and stuff.

The time of the year is kind of unpredictable though to plan things in other parts of the country.

I was thinking the same. I may try to steer us that way.

I woundt go there. DC will still be freezing and on lockdown. SA is just boring IMO.

He may love the show, but the shop is not a reason to go to Vegas. Wait until hes of age and take that trip together.

The Keys or fishing would be the way to go.

This is a fun trip because you get to see a lot of teams/players in a small geographic area; buy you should also consider going to Omaha w him for the college world series. I've heard the atmosphere is electric, and you can easily catch plenty of games

I 2nd this post. DC would be the ideal location just about any other year. Key West would be a great trip for the 2 of you for a few days.

It’s tough now bc of COVID and what the new prez might do with lockdowns compounded by fluctuating restrictions state by state. You may be forced to do outdoor type stuff. I see your son listed key west. A charter shallow water fishing trip in key west would be awesome.

Key West has some cool historic stuff too: the local cemetery has the graves of those killed in the sinking of the USS Maine in Havana, which led to the start of the Spanish American War.....great history lesson there about the yellow journalism of the day inciting an entire war.

Awesome. My son is a history buff which is why he wanted San Antonio for the Alamo. I think it’s going to be a good trip. I’ll let him start googling and planning our agenda tomorrow

Time of year dictates a slipstream headed SE. Have fun in Fla. Or possibly Savannah.
