I’m going to the saints game at the end of september and will be staying in Newark, but I still want to go into NYC for one day.

What’s my best option?

Yeah, it's an odd choice. Why not just stay in Manhattan? I can also think of much nicer places in Jersey that are even closer to the stadium.

I’m staying like a mile away from metlife. I honestly just assumed It was in newark. I have no clue where I’m staying. I just know it’s in new jersey a mile away from metlife.

You're probably staying somewhere near Secaucus if it's only a mile away from Metlife. Secaucus has a huge train station and takes like 10 min to get into the city. Plus all the train lines run through there so there's a train about every 5-10 min

I agree with this New Jersey Rail takes you right into midtown under Madison Square Garden.

Check those reservations. If you really are just a mile away from the stadium, you're definitely not in Newark.
