Dollywood in December?

I’m planning a vacation for the fam December 17-21, and I’m settling on a Gatlinburg trip. I know Dollywood is open and has a Christmas lights event.
Does anyone have any experience going to Dollywood in December? Worth it? Too cold for rollercoasters?

Ride Temp. Guidelines
I know that the rides close if it gets too cold, which may be a factor in December.

I have been there during Halloween time and it was freezing cold but I would imagine that it would be a festive place to go during the Christmas season.

As others have mentioned, they will close rides based on the temperature. I went for NYE a few years ago. I had to leave the park and come back the next day when it was a little warmer. Wish they had told us that before paying for parking lol
Dollywood displays the temperature needed for each ride at the ticket counter. The first day basically nothing was open.
Would highly recommend packing some gloves. The park is still a blast, but gloves were a life saver on the thrill rides. Its a great park to visit in the winter.
The hot chocolate at Dollywood was top notch!

Have done it twice for NYE and did not have an issue with temperature. As others said, just have to pay attention to the weather while there and plan accordingly. We did not buy our park tickets and parking passes until the night before going and last year had to flip a hiking day with Dollywood day as a precaution.

Make sure to download the Dollywood app - it's very useful, especially if you split up with your group.
Make sure to ride:
Big Bear Mountain - very fun
Wild Eagle - super fun
Tennessee Tornado - short but thrilling
Lightning Rod - intense and faaaaaaaaaaast
Thunderhead - loud and rough
