Considering a job offer and all I have ever heard is Cleveland is garbage. Anyone ever lived there or the suburbs? Commute, weather, culture... any of it worth residing there?

Married with a wife and a two year old.

It's better than Baton Rouge. It's still a large metro. Compared to other large metros, yeah, not that great. Compared to some smaller cities, yeah its better.

I have a friend from there. It's a large metro area, and like pretty much every large metro area, there are good and bad parts.

It's more about which part you're in. It is cold, and that part ain't changing with the neighborhood.

I could be wrong here, just going off of what ive heard about Cleveland. It seems as if Cleveland is just fun to shite on, because why not and everyone can get a laugh, but its actually a lot better than expected. Weather is awful for 75% of the year, but the other 25% is top notch.

Well, no shite. It's a northern state. However if 77, 81, 80 and 74 for an average high in the summer don't do it for you feel free to stick with that 95 degree/95% humidity shite you get down south during those months.

But not shitty 75% of the year. The months that it's pleasant it's very pleasant. Winter not so much but that's pretty common at that latitude.

Still better than having to rely on a levee.

I was there a few days in February for a work conference. FRRRRIIIICCCCCKKKKKK ME that had to be the most depressing place on Earth. Dark, gray skies, really cold, lots of run down or closed businesses, bland people, bland food, and aside from Key Tower and Tower City Center, bland architecture.

Downtown sucked. Professor Ave had some okay spots, but that was just about it.

Kansas City, St. Louis, or Omaha is "a lot better than expected." Cleveland was pretty terrible. Maybe we were going to the wrong places or missed some good hangouts though.

I’ve spent some time east of the city and found the people to be friendly. I thankfully haven’t had to be there during the winter.

My grandparents lived outside Cleveland when I was growing up and I used to go there every summer. It was incredibly shitty in the late 70's and 80's. We hardly ever went downtown because there was nothing going on down there. An Indians game here or there and that was it.

I went back a few years ago to visit a cousin and it was completely different. Very vibrant downtown scene, and a lot cleaner than I expected. He enjoys living there, but he grew up in Akron just down the road.

Cedar Point isn't far away but that's located in a terrible town too.

Cleveland, like St. Louis and Jacksonville, are just no go for me.

Sorry to hear that, you must have stayed in a hotel downtown in the winter and not moved

Don’t know anything about Cleveland but I lived in metro Detroit for a year and it was way better than the national reputation
