I’ll often fly out of MSY when we go skiing because it usually saves over $1k

I live in Hammond and fly out of MSY. I really like the new airport, from short term parking you are at the ticketing area in 2 minutes. If you have your shite together your at TSA in five minutes. I’ve found I don’t need to leave nearly as early as I used to

I don’t get the hate for it, new MSY is great

While that does suck, flying out of New Orleans is sometimes an excuse to grab a good dinner in the city the night before a flight out, not to mention that the flight schedules can oftentimes be so much shorter out of New Orleans, that you’ll still save a few hours of travel time even including the 2 hour drive.

I would prefer to fly out of Shreveport for the convenience (I live in Bossier Parish) but most of the time I end up driving to Dallas or Houston for the cheaper fares.
