Actually, lots of time. My wife is a Florida native who grew up in South Florida and took countless trips to Disney world since back then Florida resident passes were dirt cheap. So she knows all the tricks on how to go to Disney and not break the bank. We have done this multiple times. We do eat lunch at the park, preferably Epcot. I can't say that we didn't get any less of a Disney experience than people who stayed on property. We probably did end up spending a lot less money than most people who stay on the property and buy the meal plan.

Ok, so you are eating lunch in the parks. That makes a big difference because you are not leaving in the middle of the day.

If you are making Disney trips several times and do not have to "see it all" (This is impossible to do. You will never truly see it all.) in one trip, staying onsite isn't such a necessity. If you want to get the most out of your one trip though, staying on property will save you a ton of time, give you access to longer park hours, and you will get a more authentic experience overall.

My point is that if you're a couple with no kids there are many better choices than Disney

I agree, but damn man its someones else's vacation to do and was just asking for advice. There was no need to come in the thread and poo poo and this guys choice of destination.. I mean it his fricking money let him spend it how he chooses.

There will be many opportunities to go to Disney with kids. I've been about five times in the last 12 years.

Good for you. I go every year..we also do other trips as well. But honestly I will admit there are times where I would like to go to Disney w/o the kiddos and experience some of the other we simply can't b/c the our kids are with us.

Hawaii is a great vacation, but get real. Just paying for the flight to Hawaii would cover 50-60% of an entire trip to WDW

Gotta disagree. The food game at WDW is most certainly on point.

Wow, now I know who I'm responding to. It's no wonder you're a Disney fan.

I'm a fan of a lot of places. My favorite 2 vacations have been Ireland and New Zealand. Doesn't mean I can't like Disney. Just stop being an a-hole and let people like what they like. Sheesh.

We are here now with our 4 year old daughter. Wife and I are 30. We will have stayed 6 nights, on grounds at Art of Animation, with meal plan, for $3200 ($500 cash for souvenirs, tipping, etc for about a total of $3700).

With no kids, I would stay at a more luxurious resort. Spend all day at Epcot doing Around the World. Our daughter is having a blast, but wife and I mumbled a bunch of "son of a bitch" and "mf'er" at the insane crowd and clusterfrick of lines. Seems like Disney needs to expand. A lot of the rides seem outdated.

Had an excellent meal at Be Our Guest at Magic Kingdom.

Reservations at Be Our guest at or before park opening will get you into the park before rope drop. The rides aren't open, but you will be at the back of the park as soon as they open the rides and can usually catch Seven Dwarves or Little Mermaid with absolutely no line.

Make your reservation for 45 minutes or an hour before the park open. Order your food online ahead of time and you can done in the restaurant in 35 minutes and then go to your favorite ride right as the park opens.

We had our reservation for dinner time. Did the character breakfast in Cinderella Castle.

Will say you can definitely do Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom in one day.

hoosing between Ohana and Tony's I think the place is called.

A little late to respond....but

Ohana >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Tony's

Tony's is an Italian place in the MK. It's OK but there's nothing that stands out there for me. Ohana is magical. It's at one of the best resorts on property and the food is fantastic.
