Budget?
On the beach?
Hotel, condo, or house?
Kids?

Most nicer units want a 7 day rental during summer. Check VRBO

Check out a place called Destin West Resort in Ft. Walton. I remember them being pretty reasonable.

They have a beach side condo area and a bay side connected by a sky bridge. The bay side has a very nice pool and lazy river.

The beach side is next door to a Ramada that has a little splash park and a nice pool with a waterfall covered swim up bar in a cave. Last time I was there the Destin West guest were allowed to use the Ramada facilities.

Since you are only staying for three nights you might consider a hotel. The San Destin Hilton Resort is very nice.

I thought you couldn’t rent condos for less than a week during peak season there.

Of all the Destin talk in various threads over the years this was something I always saw mentioned.

Check things in Sandestin near the Wharf. You can take the tram for free to the beach.

you not staying 3 nights in Destin unless its a hotel or a condo that you know someone owns. Minimum 7 day stay during the summer.

For a one bedroom you can easily do a non 7 day stay but it’s not gonna be ‘best’ it’s going to need to be a last minute reservation for whatever is available which means the more bottom of the barrel stuff. You need to call a larger property management company like Ocean’s Reef, Resortquest, etc. and talk to someone and see if they can work it out. If they can’t right now, call them 2 weeks before you arrive and someone will have something.

Most of them will be 1 week minimum, but you can still find some for less than a week, especially booking this close to the travel dates.

As said above,Sundestin,in town and on the beach, will rent for less than a week. Many others will require a full week during July. Move fast. Time is short for July choices.

Doing a weekend stay this close to July will be difficult at best.

I have never heard of a 7 day minimum. And we go almost every year.
