Delta vs Southwest vs American Airlines from Dallas to LA?

I'll try to keep it brief:
Family of 6 flying to LA next summer. Live in Monroe but will be flying out of Dallas due to flight costs.
I currently have around 60k Delta sky miles.
Delta: Dallas to LAX direct flight - 19k skymiles per ticket /$274 per round trip ticket meaning I could burn my sky miles on 3 tickets and then pay around $850 for the remaining 3 tickets (plus some extra for assigned seating). Or just pay cash and cost around $1650 plus extra for assigned seating.
SWA: has yet to put out the July prices but looking at May to compare, it would cost about $1700 and that's with no assigned seats which are important because we'll have a 7 and 5 year old.
AA: Would pay around $1500, assuming more for assigned seating.
So it looks like SWA is out of the picture unless they come up with cheaper July flights in the next 2 months. But then I'd risk missing out of these lower prices for Delta or AA. Is 19k a lot of miles for one ticket? Should I save the miles and just pay cash? In that case would you choose the American flight over Delta?
Should I chance the prices getting any cheaper or should I jump on them now?

Currency with one airline vs another aren't directly comparable value wise. This is because Delta for instance, bases the amount of points you need on the price of the ticket, likewise so does Southwest.
However, in this case United and American, who do not have their points tied to flight prices, charge 12,500 miles one way (25,000 Roundtrip) for domestic flights, so the 19k from Delta is a good deal in comparison, leaving out the earn side structure.
I don't know how you like to use your awards and that part is purely subjective. I don't know how easy you earn or if you have a preferred airline, etc. If you don't care about your Delta miles for something else I'd just burn them.
I don't use my points on legacy carriers for domestic awards, only international business class to maximize the value of each point. Therefore, I personally lean towards paying out of pocket on domestic flights if I haven't figured out another way to cover them. I don't really earn Delta points via any avenue, so when I can I just burn them myself.

Well there's no international flights on our agenda in the near future.
We do have a possible trip to Orlando coming up this spring. So basically the only way to get a better deal using the sky miles is if the ticket prices decrease.
I'll probably just go ahead and burn them. I'm about to start looking at other credit cards with a wider range of travel benefits anyway instead of being stuck using Delta.

I live in DFW and my company is based in LA so ive taken that trip a ton
DFW to LA is the most popular route for AA out of DFW and with AA being based here, you will have tons of options on flight times and price. Ive found RT before for $150-200 since they have so many flights.
I would recommend AA based on that.

Southwest - The former low cost airline.

I'd keep checking with AA. They are usually very cheap to lax. I've flown to LA for as little as $99 out of Dfw on AA. It's still early so keep checking. I just googled Dfw to lax leaving next Saturday and returning the following Saturday for $113. I wouldn't fly southwest west if my life depended on it. The walmart of the skies. Plus I've never found them to be cheap on any flight

SW is def not the cheapest anymore
AA has beaten them on every trip I've taken.

On SWA don't people with children board after the "A" group if they aren't on the plane by then? So you are pretty well guaranteed to be able to sit together.
I wouldn't buy a ticket for next summer yet.

Families travelling with children 6 and under get to board after A group which guarantees you get seats together.

You have plenty of time, just wait until the fall/winter.
Keep checking the SWA website. Sales pop-up all the time.
