Sorry, Thomas Ave, not state. It was the townhouses in the Marquis State Thomas. Best mid 20s neighborhood in the city imo

Ah, gotcha. I have a few friends that lived there through the years. good spot.
My buddy had a place in those townhouses at State and Clark on the corner but sold it once they had a kid.

I don’t know where you’re getting your prices but the Marriott Uptown and The Stoneleigh are $412 and $335 respectively in Marriott app with a free Bonvoy membership.
The Melrose is next to all of the gay bars, so if you don’t want to be in that area, go with The Stoneleigh.
Check out the DMA (free), The Nasher ($10), & The Crow (free) if you like museums. They’re all right next to each other.
Check out Breadwinner’s for brunch.

Appreciate all the recommendations!
I chose The Hotel Crescent Court.
I’m driving in from Lafayette on Friday.
Dinner at Nobu that night.
Still planning Saturday. Will stay in the Uptown area for sure. Best upscale steak place for dinner? Under the radar lunch spots, great atmosphere, any type of food or setting?
Best sports bar in Uptown Dallas to watch LSU Saturday night?

Bobs or Nick and Sam’s. Will need a reservation for both. I personally don’t like Nick and Sam’s at all but it’s the definition of upscale

For quick service, crush craft. It’s a fast casual Thai place but it’s really good. Tons of stuff around Upton/Knox/Lower Greenville

Katy Trail Ice House but will likely be packed

Good options for sure. Truluck's is also close but I'd go with Bob's or Al Biernats.

Lots of fun in uptown. All those nice hotels have badass bars and many walkable ones as well.
The OG Bobs and Al Biernats on Oak Lawn are fantastic

Head over to the Omni Dallas to The Owner’s Box to watch the game. Not sure where alum groups meet.
Dakota’s has cool setup underground in downtown. Al Biernet’s. My fave The Capital Grille is right there at The Crescent.

Alumni groups are at Thirsty Lion in Preston Hollow and Irving. I've been gone for a while but I'm sure there's still a group that watches at Dodie's on Lower Greenville.

The actual alumni association bar was Dibs on Victory as of a couple of years ago, but not sure. Dodie's is still a big spot too but it gets PACKED

My daughter goes to Dallas a lot. Dakota’s is her favorite.

The two Thirsty Lion locations I mentioned above are the official watch party locations for this season. DIBS closed a few years back

If you want to throw some Tex Mex into your itinerary, Las Palmas is right down the street from The Crescent. Very popular upscale tex mex place that opened 2017ish. Pretty casual for lunch and gets a little more sceney for dinner.
The Las Palmas guys also own an awesome cocktail bar across the street called Bowen House that opens at 4pm if you are looking for some pre-dinner drinks (might want to make reservations there, its small and can get crowded).
For more casual Tex Mex lunch, Mia's is my personal favorite, right by Bob's on Lemmon. Get sunset beef fajitas (get the onions crispy) or brisket tacos

x2 on Mia's! My wife and I used to walk there for dinner and margaritas when we lived nearby.
