Taking my son to Houston and Dallas as we try and hit all the MLB parks.
Was wondering if the area around Globe Lige Field was okay for hotels or if I need to venture out a bit?

You can stay right there at Loews or Live! by Loews. Beyond that just do your homework, some decent options.

We paid a little more and stayed at the one by stadium
It was really convenient and you didn’t have to leave to grab a bite of food
Plus you didn’t have to worry about parking

stay at either of the ones next to the stadium or any of the ones on the other side of the interstate. They run a shuttle to and from the stadium on game days. All of them are in a safe area.

Nice! I’ve got 5 left but haven’t gotten to a new one this year. Maybe Tampa in Sept. Lot of good places left on your list. That’s something cool that you’re doing together.

I stayed at the courtyard by Marriott on Nolan Ryan expressway when we I went last year. Walked to and from the game (after dark) and it was fine.

We’ve stayed there a couple of times. It’s a good location. Last time, we got tired of waiting on the shuttle, so we walked across the parking lots to the park. After the game, the shuttles were parked right outside, so we hopped on for the return leg. I think we had to get a ticket at the hotel desk, and it was color coded so you got on the correct shuttle.

if you time it right, you should be able to knock out chi white sox, cubs, and milwaukee in 3 days. sounds fun trying to organize such trips.

another option would be to stay near the Fort Worth stockyards to knock that off the list while you are there. But yes, you can stay right by the stadium

I did this in 2024. Sox/Yankees, next day took a train to Milwaukee and back to see brewers/dodgers, then cubs/blue jays the next day. Father son trip that I’ll never forget.

Do you do any of the ballpark tours while visiting the ballparks? If the schedule allows at all, we will take a tour while visiting for the game. The one at Globe Life was pretty good.

I use a crown plaza nearby for work. It’s decent and about five mins from the field

I had planned to complete my park list by the end of next season, including opening day in DC or MIA and a late Sept Cleveland-Detroit roadtrip as a grand finale. But now I’m worried the lockout will blow up that plan.

yeah I'll second the tour if you have time. How old is your son? if you do a sunday afternoon game, they let kids run the bases after the game

Been doing the MLB trips with my boys and 2 close friends/sons. Only 3 left to go. Saved Houston and Rangers because those are easy and have to hit Vegas when it opens.
