Taking a 3-day trip to Chicago next week. Looks like it's going to be miserably cold. Any recommendations of things to do and that keep the outdoor activities to a minimum?

Yeah Chicago in January is pretty damn miserable. Been a few times.
One of my favorite cities though.
They have lots of great museums, like the Field Museum and the Art Institute, and the Shedd Aquarium. Drinks at the bar at the top of the Hancock building. Top of the Willis Tower. You can catch a lot of Broadway type shows there.

We go in Jan a lot and it's usually 10-30 degrees which isn't bad. The stores crank up the heat so when you walk out it feels nice unless the wind is strong. Ice skating in the park is awesome and now they have the skating ribbon which is cool. We always map out stores and bars along Michigan Ave so we are in and out a lot. At night we eat and drink. So really it's not a ton of outside activities other than walking. Buy some extreme temp under shirts and pants and you'll be fine. Check out a Blackhawks game if you can get tickets.

Yeah that is just a crazy statement. It is literally too cold to go outside right now.
To the op, i hope you like eating and drinking i wouldn’t leave the inside of a bar or restaurant.

I was in CHI for my Aunt's 90th B-day on 1-17-16, 3 degrees and -25 wind chill. Brutally cold

I guess cold weather doesn't bother me

Same here... I moved up here 3 years ago and it doesn't bother me much... especially if you are clothed for It (hat/gloves)...
It's only really when its the cold + wind.. then that can be brutal..

Wind makes all the difference in the world. I always ignore the wind chill charts, they're worthless.

Buddy Guy plays several times each January at his club, Legends. Check the calendar on the club site and get tickets if that interests you.
Chicago has several excellent museums. With heat.
Second City.
