Hope everyone is having a nice end of summer, but it's time for the fall sales to come out
. Noticed earlier southwest is running a very good deal for september all the way through december. Not all days have the best deals (specifcally fridays and sundays), but good fares for almost all of september then random dates in october up until christmas. Got Seattle to Nola for $76 one-way and I'm pumped to head down again for an LSU game.
All prices below are a roundtrip price. Started with just southwest flights but then went to google flights and added quite a few more prices on the majors. Any questions or good finds please feel free to add
Nola to:
Nashville- $156 on Southwest, $170 on AA, $173 on Delta
Ft. Lauderdale- $111 on Southwest, $148 on AA
Los Angeles- $198 on Southwest, $197 on Delta.
Seattle- $148 on Southwest, $151 on United
Tampa- $134 on Southwest, $148 on AA, $151 on Delta
Cancun- $236 on Southwest, $251 on AA or United
Denver- $118 on Southwest, $171 on AA, $237 on United. Maybe I just picked bad dates on United, would expect a duplicate fare sale
Boston- $162 on Southwest, $161 on Delta, $168 on AA. Best I've seen on this in a while, below $200 is about right for this time of year
Dallas- $118 on Southwest, $135 on AA, $137 on Delta
Orlando- $178 on Southwest, $41 on Spirit. Given the recent showing by Spirit, I can't advocate for that flight but it's there and it's cheap. You get what you pay for.
Oklahoma City- $104 on Southwest, $151 on Delta or United. Looks to be only on sundays for a nonstop
Austin- $78 on Southwest, $106 on American, $137 on Delta. Best sale of the group, would book in a heartbeat.
Chicago- $118 on Southwest or American. Pretty good, I did a daytrip once on AA for $99 roundtrip.
NYC- $143 on Southwest, $137 on Jetblue, United, or Delta. Great price, NYC must really be seeing flight ticket sales lag if it's this cheap on all the carriers.
Miami- $85 on AA
Minneapolis- $174 on AA, $177 on Delta
Bangor, ME- $174 on AA, $224 on Delta. Good price to get up to Maine, not sure how car rentals are up there.
Charleston- $151 on Delta, $161 on United
Louisville- $151 on Delta
St. Thomas- $270 on AA. Putting a link here to prove it exists LINK

Appreciate that you do these. When would you advise booking a NYE trip? Have to go to Gatlinburg for a wedding and looking at either 29-2 or 30-2. Right now tickets are around $400 roundtrip from BTR/MSY to Knoxville.

If you're travel days arent any cheaper, try looking at flying out a day early or coming home a day later.

I've been looking and have to say no one is budging on Christmas or new years flight prices yet. You can keep browsing now but I wouldn't expect anything cheap to show up for another 2 months. You can set flight alerts on Google flights to track the prices. Set 3 up- one way up to Gatlinburg on 12/29, one on 12/30, and a return on 1/2.
