I have to be in BR early Saturday morning for my daughter’s gymnastics competition. My wife wants to head up Friday and stay so she has enough time to get our daughter’s hair fixed and everything else together. I’m leaning towards making a “field trip” out of Friday. Probably go to the planetarium/Kidd type stuff before dinner and crashing. Competition is closer to Denham. I’m looking for somewhere within about a 10-20 minute drive that isn’t super expensive but that we also don’t have to worry about car getting broke into. Any recommendations are appreciated?

Hilton downtown, The Watermark, and Indigo are within a block of a parking garage.

I appreciate the recommendations. We don’t necessarily need a parking garage. Just a decent place to lay our head down without having to worry about any BS.

For location and economy, look at the Hampton Inn College Dr. on Constitution Ave. It's clean, safe as anywhere and there's food within 500ft.

I mean, you won’t get any bs at the hotels off the Denham exit. If you looking for some place just to stay, get the kid ready and go. I have a competitive gymnast daughter too. We’d be looking for a place with a good enough bathroom and close to the facility since my wife is always late.

Residence Inn off corporate near town center or Renaissance. Or the DoubleTree on constitution. Stay away from Downtown.

Any of the hotels off the College Drive exit if you're wanting to stay in BR. If not, stay in Denham Springs or Walker.

Downtown Baton Rouge, College Drive, or the Denham exit (except for the OYO hotel) are going to be your safest areas.
Avoid the more crime prone areas of O'neal Lane, Airline, and Sherwood.

Simple...stay in Denham/Walker, no need to 'commute' all the way from B.R. for an event in Denham !

Thank you for the recommendations. We decided on a Comfort Suites in Denham. Hopefully everything will turn out okay.

Tru by Hilton on Siegen Lane behind TJ Ribs is a good option.

Lord knows I have spent many a evening at Hooters no incidents of my car being broken into.

We have stayed there several times for family things and never had a problem. The worst part is the traffic at I-12 on-off ramps.
