Jackson because you also have easy access to the Grand Tetons

We're flying into Jackson this summer because of the proximity of Grand Teton also.

Fly into what ever one is cheaper. Stay in both. Yelllowstone is huge. We flew in to Jackson, and stayed in Gardiner, MT for 2 nights, 4 nights in Jackson hole. You definitely want to try to stay in different locations. Jackson gives you easy access to Grand Tetons.

You can stay in Cody, Wy. Cool little town with a lot of western history (Buffalo Bill museum), etc. Pretty close to Yellowstone.
Also good fishing.

Do y’all think first week of October is a good time to go? I wouldn’t be upset if they had a little snow on the ground.

Going in June. We're flying into Jackson hole but flying back from kalispell. Gonna drive up and visit glacier as well.

Had an alaskan cruise booked for those days with princess with time already approved off for work. Decided that we don't wanna take the cruise until things get semi back to normal so made other plans. Wish we were going in July tbh.

Mid to late September is prime for Yellowstone. Elk in rut, predators fattening up for winter, kids in school and less crowded.

We went mid-October and it was very cold but not crowded at all and very peaceful. Highly recommend!

The park is at higher elevation than the surrounding areas. And that’s true if you come down from Bozeman or drive up from Jackson. I would expect some snow, and relatively few people. It’s still a early enough that all the roads should still be open.

By the end of the month roads do close, and some stretches are limited to vehicles with snow tires.

October just isn’t the prettiest time of year. But you’re still in an amazing place.

Jackson Hole, that way you get the Teton's and Yellowstone from South to north.
