The Memphian is the new hot spot in midtown. It’s pretty cool.

Downtown has the Hyatt Centric, The Peabody, Central Station Hotel, and Arrive Hotel.

These are all new except for The Peabody.

Southaven, MS.

Memphis is the only city in the USA where my company banned employees from staying due to how dangerous it is.

I love hanging out there, but the rooms are a tough proposition for me. Small and thin walls, plus expensive.

stay at the hotel across from ikea then grab a cinnamon roll the next morning at ikea before you roll out

and yes, this is definitely the safest 'memphis proper' area.

True… but still, it’s quite convenient to just go up to the room after a few drinks in the lobby.

Central Station rooms are tiny and you listen to that trolley whistle.

I live in East Memphis. You know it’s a good area when there is a Ruth’s Chris, Flemings, and Capital Grille nearby. Still some crime though.

Just drove through W. Memphis over the weekend. At least on the main section of the interstate it looks like they have put up several decent hotels now. It was only a few years ago that we were at a ball tournament there and tried to get a room at one of the shitty selections they had. The front desk guy said, "we don't offer refunds, go check it out before I take your money."
