I don't have status on any other airlines, but delta has always been great for me.

I get upgraded to first class about 3-5 times a year. Free upgrades to comfort+ on almost every flight.

Having the accompanying amex gives you a 15% discount when you book a flight on miles, and the other card perks are great too.

Not that I expect everyone to agree, but I've had a fantastic experience with my status on United. Admittedly, half of that experience might stem from being near ORD and having flight flexibility between LGA and SFO, where I travel most often.

Do you have all these airlines servicing routes you use a lot?

Sometimes the choice is made for you.

For me, it's been United.

For most, if you have to ask it means you don't fly enough to make loyalty to one airline worth it. Be a free agent and book the most convenient flight.

Every city is different. Depends which airline you fly the most based on where you live. Mine used to be United. Now it’s Delta. All will match status of each other though if you wanna try it.

Have highest on both Southwest and United.

Southwest for points, hard to beat double points earned on every flight. Basically get a free one way every trip I take.

United for upgrades. I get first class about 50% of the time as 1k. Of course, all depends on route.

I’ve weaned away from SW as they treat their best customers like shite outside of the points, but those points are amazing. Just booked reward travel for two on United and it was 100K points, which took prob 6 months to earn. In comparison, would have cost 60k on SW, which would have taken 2-3 months to earn.

Definitely United for domestic. You hit the top tier Star Alliance Gold status with only United Gold, giving you lounge access (Except United Clubs) and partner benefits around the world. Also, their miles are infinitely more valuable than Delta's SkyPesos

That lounge access is nice but you have to go search them out in international terminals. If you have a family, United Club credit card is a pretty good deal. With my status and the card I think I’m up to like 6 bags free + not having to pay for family meals at the airport. Starts to pay for itself.

Best answer: depends on the airline that has the most flights to your primary travel destinations from your home airport.

Outside of that, I have/have had status with Delta, United, and SW. From my experience Delta is probably the best for amenities (especially lounge access with the AmEx Platinum), SW is best for accumulating points, United is best for flight seating upgrades.

I get access to Delta's SkyClubs thanks to my AmEx Plat, but I've been flying more and more United being AUS based. Have considered getting the United Club card as well. I think the UA miles are way more valuable than the SkyPesos so the SUB and lounge access may make the card make sense for a few years at least. Though I do like having the ability to transfer points almost anywhere with the Gold/Platinum AmEx cards instead of being stuck with one airline.
