Looking to take the kids to the beach for spring break, but most sites show that almost everything is booked. I know that we are kind last minute, but I am having a hard time believing that everything is booked up. Have looked on VRBO/AirBNB, etc with no luck. Any other recommendations? Prefer to stay somewhere along the panhandle..thanks

Its going to be busy. Call someone like Meyer in Gulf Shores or Vacasa in Destin that are large companies with 5,000 units and see what's available.

This late, it's best to just call one of the local rental agencies.
Spring Break books up almost every year, and as Covid is winding down there's a ton of pent up demand, so not surprising at all there is little to no availability on VRBO/AirBnB. I'd imagine Gulf Shores area may also still be rebuilding from the hurricane.

I heard of very little damage.
Last year the gulf coast was crazy full all summer and I expect spring through summer to be that way this year

I think that's probably the biggest reason. Everyone wants to go on vacation right now. You can usually find options up to a few weeks out, but there's virtually nothing left now.
We had plans with two other families that fell through about two weeks ago and had to scramble to find something. I happened to find a 7 bedroom house on Alligator Point, FL, but I looked from basically Gulf Shores to there and from Jacksonville up to Myrtle Beach and there are almost no options unless you want to get a place that's a really long walk or short drive to the water.

The Beach Club in Ft Morgan is reopening Apr 1. They've been filling my inbox so they must have some rentals available.
