Anyone here taken young kids to Cabo?

Considering a quick beach trip (3-4 nights) with the fam in mid December and it’s pretty quick to get to Cabo from Houston.
My son is 3.5 years old and doesn’t really get out in the water yet at the beach. So won’t have to worry about swimming (which I know you can’t do at some beaches in Cabo).
Since it’s a shorter trip, we probably wouldn’t even get out of the resort much.
Anyone here taken kids of a similar age to Cabo? If so, care to share your experience? TY!

I would consider Playa Del Carmen or even Cancun.

You're not leaving the resort, ever. Especially at an all inclusive in Mexico (Isla de Mujeres, etc) there's no need to leave for a trip that short. It's a short flight (at least to the Yucatan) and the boy will be fine playing in the sand, by the pool bar with you, etc. Get a resort nanny so you and the wife can eat dinner in peace one night.

There's nothing wrong with Cabo. At all. Reasonably cool place. Not my first choice but pretty decent.

You missed where I was quoting other posters, or maybe you're confusing this thread with my third world shithole comment about the guy training his replacement in India.
Mexico is Mexico. He's flying out of IAH, so unless there is a burning need to fly to Cabo, objectives can be completed with less flight time. They're not likely exploring Chichen Itza or similar, or whatever Los Angeles South trash that appeals to Cabo people. If OP is meeting a couple there, fine. Still not likely leaving a resort on a 3 day trip except an excursion (taking a 3 year old to a zip line tour, maybe?) on day 2.

It's practically all beaches in Cabo. The Hilton is in a protected area and is one of the very rare exceptions.

Well this is just not true
The walk into town was absolutely not safe at night.
And the link I provided is to an event that definitely happened. Name one other resort destination where you and your kids might just casually drive under dead bodies swinging from an interstate overpass while driving in from the airport.
