Anyone done the Gaylord Opryland hotel in Nashville at Christmas?

This past February my wife and 2 little ones went to that hotel for the first time and had a blast. Really awesome place, cool stuff everywhere, and being February we very much enjoyed the massive indoor water park. Great trip all the way around.
Usually we drive over to Stone Mountain in GA in December to do Christmas activities but now my wife kinda has the itch to go back to gaylord opryland. After a brief look at their website they go all out for Christmastime and it looks incredible, but man it's also pricey. Not only is just staying there by itself a bit on the high side, but it seems like there's add-ons for all the different Christmas type stuff. That's not even counting parking and eating on site in the restaurants. I guess my ultimate question is, for those that have gone there before at Christmas time, did you find the cost was worth the value?

I've been to the one in Grapevine, TX for Christmas and they do go all out. That one was decorated throughout for Christmas and had life size Charlie Brown Christmas ice sculptures, hills for sledding, areas to build snowmen and have snowball fights as well as lots of other activities.

I’m not stayed there, but I’ve walked through it during Christmas time … it was nothing short of awesome

Yes, wife and I went in 2024. Very nice, little pricey, but not too bad. Not sure if they are doing it again but For King and Country usually does a Little Drummer Boy special Christmas concert at the Grand Ole Opry. It was the highlight of the trip and really makes you remember the meaning of Christmas. You tube it, it’s awesome

The ICE exhibit runs from November to January in Grapevine (I'm assuming something similar in Nashville.) OP can have a bit more scheduling versatility than just Christmas.

Follow up- do you think it would have been a great pleasant experience jsut checking in and seeing all the decor, or do you feel it necessary to purchase a bunhc of the add ons? I see something called "Ice! featuring home alone" that looks like a little walkthrough exhibit with a slide, a Cirque musical show, a gingerbread making thing, an ice tubing area, carriage rides, etc....all of which of course have their own seprate fee. By the time you sign up a family of 4 for all of it you're looking at a 2 day weeekend trip costing well into the thousands!
Just trying to gauge the difference between "this was incredible and an absolute must do while there" and "meh, you can take this or leave it".

Never stayed at the resort, but have been numerous times to see the lights and other activities. The Cirque show was enjoyable, 12 year old raved about it and wants to go again this year, the Ice exhibit (Home Alone this year) is very nicely done, but it’s so cold in there, my group kind of rushed through and didn’t really take the time to appreciate it. My family wouldn’t really enjoy a full weekend just doing the stuff at the resort, but a weekend trip to Nashville that time of year should definitely include a visit. I do believe that they try to limit attendance on weekends to only hotel guests or people with restaurant or activity reservations, but I’m not sure how strictly it is enforced.

We have stayed before Christmas a few times. My kid loved it, the ice attraction is always really neat. We got upgraded to an indoor balcony room where we could see the water show one time and that was really cool. Indoor waterpark is very nice. Heading over to the mall and shopping can get expensive.
Is it worth the cost? Not really, but my wife thinks so and I get to pick where I would like to take trips that she doesn't really enjoy as well, so it works out.

My work had a couple of Christmas parties there before covid. Not sure if it has changed, but I learned that you really can't get in there after 4:30 in the evening, the traffic is backed up for hours. So if you go and need to leave, get back in the afternoon or you will be stuck in a car for a long time.

Not at Christmas but do plan to in future. There are also Gaylord’s in Orlando, Grapevine and Colorado that all appear to be awesome.
