Played Rugby in Wales, Scotland and England. Only place I really thought about returning to was Wales, for the people. Stayed in the Rhondda Valley and Swansea. Nicest, most welcoming people I’ve ever met. Highlands in Scotland were beautiful, but other than that, I felt UK was OK, but there is a lot more natural beauty right here in the USA.

The people who live in the smaller towns and cities are very much like the people you meet in the smaller towns and cities in many areas of the U.S., much more so than continental Europeans. London is a whole different matter.
