Getting to Vancouver a couple of days early. Any can’t miss activities or places to eat? Staying downtown.

Beijing duck house is really good. Take a walk around Stanley Park. So beautiful. I loved my short time in Vancouver before a Whistler ski trip

Also check out capilano suspension bridge

These were recommended to me by a local when we were in your situation last year. Unfortunately we did not get to try any of them

quote:

Vancouver restaurants:

: -**Miku (best sushi- reserve in advance)
-Nuba in Yaletown (Lebanese)
-Rodney’s for oysters and seafood
-Carderos (salmon and sablefish)

quote:

Walk through Stanley park
Sunset or third beach

Which ship will you be sailing on?

My wife would fricking die.

We are going on a SilverSeas ship. 10 days from Vancouver to Steward, AK. Will also have two extra days in Steward/Anchorage.

Walk the waterfront around Stanley Park.

Take the boat to Granville Island.

Take the ferry to Victoria. We spent a few days there.

I prefer Victoria to Vancouver.

Look into flying directly into Victoria before your cruise and then taking the ferry (or a plane or a seaplane) to Vancouver to catch your ship.

I’m actually terrified of heights and it didn’t bother me too bad. I went near Christmas time so it was all lit up. Amazing place. Vancouver is one of my favorite big cities. I could have def spent some more time there. I’m a runner so my early morning run around Stanley park from our hotel was one of the most scenic , more memorable runs of all time.

Already planned my route, 7 miles total. Is this better in the mornings or evenings?

I only went morning just after daylight and it was amazing. I ran it counter clockwise from its entry point. It has a dedicated bike lane and runners lane. Ithe scenery is so great you’ll forget you’re even running after a while. Enjoy.

I stayed at the fairmont pacific rim and highly recommend.

Yes sir. Good choice. Loved that hotel. The on site restaurant ( botanist) is bib gourmand or Michelin recommended but no star and very good. A little steep though.
