Our backpack began at Death Canyon Trailhead. We camped on Death Canyon Shelf on the first night (9,550 ft) [strenuous 12 mile day].
On Day 2 we finished the shelf and hiked in and out of Alaska Basin to camp at Sunset Lake (9,600 ft) [easy 8 mile day].
We practically ran back to Jenny Lake on Day 3 from Sunset after climbing up to Hurricane Pass (10,700) and Schoolroom Glacier [13.5 miles by 2:30 to arrive at the boat dock]
