I have flight vouchers for me and the wife to use. We can fly anywhere in the US. We are struggling to find a destination. Does anyone have suggestions?
Here are the three destinations we are considering:
San Diego
Charleston
Boston

I'd go with Charleston, Asheville, or Sante Fe.

What time of year are you traveling?

All things being equal, there’s no bad option. I’d say it depends on the time of year and what you’re looking to do.

We have a beach vacation in July, so we are thinking May or June...

Charleston is going to be hot then. So I’d vote SD or Boston.

Sitka, Alaska
Has a helluva lot to offer for a town of 9,000. Direct flights from Seattle
Stay at the Rockwell Lighthouse if available. Its on a small island but is just off Crescent Harbor.
Lots of stuff to do. Whale watching, Brown Bears, Fishing, Restaurants, History, hiking, Kayaking.

For three nights, give me San Diego as weather will be good no matter when you go.
You need more time that that for Boston.

I just don’t understand the love fest with San Diego.
Traffic sucks, the beaches are cold ( and many times polluted). The people aren’t overly friendly. I do enjoy the hiking on Torrey pines state park. And there are some cool restaurants.
I think my biggest thing is I get frustrated by going to the beach in California and comparing it to Florida beaches.
3 night vacation, I’d pick something simple that lets you focus on your wife and less on what to do and see. Go small townish and really relax and enjoy your get away. Any place an hour outside of Denver. Appalachicola, FL. Boone, NC. Rockport, Maine.
