Good to get the follow up on your trip brah. Next year, come to Utah and I'll have you ripping in just a few hours...

I will also say, it made a huge difference going up the mountain. On all the kid / class slopes at the bottom, it was like straight ice.

Yeah, for sure. That shite gets scraped off with a quickness by people who are learning. Hope you had fun overall, Would be a shame if you never went again with all that nice equipment

First day at Breck today was great. My son who is 11 has only snowboarded once before this 4 years ago so I was considering it his first time. I looked up slope for my buddy, turned back around and my son was gone and I panicked, thinking he went off into the trees. I get to the edge of a roller and see him half a damn mile down the mountain. I was damn proud. He loves it.

Wouldn't we all......

My first few days snowboarding felt like I had been in a car wreck. Tighten down those bindings until they won't click anymore.

Damn near 50 degrees at Loveland today, south facing lasted until about 130 then got too soft.

Just back from first trip out East to Stowe; not up to Western standards but not bad. I was told ours wasn’t the true Eastern experience because they are having a Top 5 snow year.
Pros:
- Lower altitude so easier on us flatlanders
- Minimal lift lines, even with school out in VT & NH
- Small enough to learn the layout quickly, but big enough to not get bored with 3 days
- Free parking during the week
- Lots of places to explore on off-days
Cons:
- Couple of spots require walking uphill to get to other lifts
- Grooming unpredictable and spotty
- Runs are very narrow on average; would be a problem if crowded
- No ambassadors on the mountain to answer questions
- Too small for much more than a 3-4 day trip
- Resort & town are Vail/Aspen expensive
- We didn’t experience either, but supposedly wind holds & ice can be fairly common
Overall. Glad we were able to at least try an Eastern resort, but IMNSHO it’s not even comparable to the West. Now back to Breck/Keystone in 2 weeks.

Day 1 here in Park City was a warm one but fun. We skied from the Canyons side all the way over to Mountain Village side for lunch at Collies on Main Street then made our way back with stops at Miners Camp for the DJ and the talent there was special (no pics because I'm not THAT creepy).

A bit icy and slushy in places in the afternoon but the warmer temps made things nice to sit outside at lunch enjoy the DJ without being cold and miserable.

Colder temps rolled in last night and some snow on the way should get things back a little bit closer to "normal". Wife and daughter on the slopes today so I'll be able to stop and take alot more pics.

Heading to SLC tomorrow, had a delamination issue with my Rustler 10s, going to have to rent some skis and we'll see what the shop says about fixing them. Looking like a ton of snow for both the Wasatch front and back...going to be awesome skiing!

Saturday and Sunday were something else for sure. I had the vents fully open on my bibs for about 3 hours.

It's been much better the last couple of days and we're going to get dumped on here tonight and tomorrow.

I'll be at Snowbird Friday for opening. I usually start in the Gad Valley. Email me at dbarri13 @ gmail if you want to meet up and get a few laps.

Finished day 4 at Breck. I’ve only been to Breck for one day before this and it wasn’t especially memorable, mainly because of the nightmare that Columbine is. I’m a boarder and I fricking HATE that run and it stuck in my head. But damn I’ve explored so much more this trip and it’s really an amazing place. The crowds have been light, so there’s been plenty of powder to find after the Monday and Tuesday dumping. My son rode his first black diamond today, American. Although short and groomed, I’m proud as hell of him. He doesn’t ever want to ride greens again and wants to find a more challenging black tomorrow. He goes in the trees and loves it. Tomorrow will be spent on peak 7 because I love the trees and side hits on Wirepatch and Angels Rest. That will wrap up our trip but we will definitely be back.

Peak 7 is always better than peak 8 for making lots of laps on blues due to the crowds at 8 base. Definitely go up to the top of Kensho at least once if you haven't yet, you will get stuck on a road towards the bottom if you take eleysian fields, but its much better than columbine.

Getting up to Snowbird was a struggle today, didn't get parked until 1045 but was still able to ski a few laps with RonFNSwanson today! It was pretty deep in spots, visibility was tough but still lots of fun.

Finally got my skis back from the shop after skiing today as well, they talked me into demoing some Mantra 102s today and they were just not the right ski for all this powder. Glad to have my Rustler 10s back for Park City tomorrow.

Holy frick. Just had the scariest flight experience of my life. Coming into Houston from Denver and we landed incredibly hard, bounced and landed hard again and the pilots hit the gas and we did a go around. frick me I shite my pants.

Was on that same flight last night coming back from Purgatory. Super fun for us because on the way into Durango our pilots aborted the landing right before wheels down due to “wind”. I swear when we walked off the plane after going back up for round two both of them looked no older than 20 years old.

But last night was worse.

I have a pair of the Flylow Baker insulated bib and after spending one day in Utah ;ast week where temps hit the 50s I am considering a pair of the shell bibs in case it's warm in Breck for my trip next month.

For those who have rocked their shell bib in the past, what's the coldest you can remember wearing them on without any baselayer underneath? I really don't want to add anything under for temps in the teens and up.

I wear a puffy and a shell. I ball up the puffy into my shell when it gets hot.

If the sun is out 40 is hot to me so I can’t really tell you what temp to make the switch.

I have a few different options because I ride so much and destroy a lot of gear.

I’m shooting for 100 days this season. I’m at 86 now.
