I plan on skiing Heavenly as always, Kirkwood, and my first trip to Park City.
Don't know the exact dates, but most likely 2-3 weeks in Jan &/or Feb, then back to the remote island life.
Got in 10 days last season. Always shooting for more every season.
For years I've been saying I'm going to spend a winter being a ski bum and get in 30+ days.

We are doing a Mardi Gras trip this year with friends from LA, its between Whistler and Steamboat.
The price on flights are going to determine where we go. Im pushing for Whistler and flying into Seattle then driving north, which is much cheaper than flying to Vancouver. Flying into Steamboat will be a lot easier.

Snowmass is great. Longshot run is always a favorite. Powerline glades and sneakys glads are fun. Can’t really go wrong with any of the runs. There are so many great runs for all abilities. We always enjoy venga venga for Mexican food. Stew pot is good/easy. I’ll Poggio for good Italian. So many options for a good meal.

I was traveling out of Louisiana so much, I finally gave moving a shot (again).
I lived in Santa Monica CA for two years after earning my undergrad at LSU; May 2000.
Time to put my house on the market in Louisiana.
Found a full time job on Bend already doing what I do (arborist).

Man, Cham is a special place - truly in a class of its own. There is nothing in lower 48 that even comes close in terms of steeps - and it completely blows my mind the terrain available off the Aguille du Midi and the Skyway on the Italian side.
My only beef with Cham, and the alps in general, is that it can be tough to time it. Cham only gets about 180” of snow on average. I’ve gone three times, one year there was almost no snow, another year I had several wind days so had to stay on Italian side (which is a lot of fun), and the third year I had OK but not great conditions and I was a little too early. Never been able to do anything too dicey, would love to ski the north face off the Aguille du Midi, but conditions would need to be perfect. The frogs are absolute madmen in the mountains, blows my mind some of the skiing that they do.
Not sure what your skill level is, but if you are even an intermediate you should do the Valle Blanche and hire a guide. I took my wife who is not a strong skier.

Love Chamonix. Skied there last year end of January and didn’t have great snow, pretty icy. Spent two days at Grands Montets, one of which we toured over the ridge to the glacier. Did Vallee Blanche, and spent a day at Brevent/Flegere. Had a great time. This year taking my wife and 9 year old twins. Will probably stick to Le Tour, and Brevent/Felegre.
My wife is most excited for the food. We were there as a family last summer and she was a little jealous that I got to go back in the winter and enjoy the food without them

Mt Bachelor, this past weekend:
Technically, I can still boot pack up and ride down the Summit lift line. Marginal (at best) conditions but I might just have to do it for the novelty.

66 days last year. Hoping to increase that this season.
Tons of days at Copper obviously. Try to jaunt over to Aspen at Christmas to meet up with Cuse.
Oh and Im going to ski Saturday.
Still got the ole Woodward Glacier at Copper.

Looking for a good 1 bedroom in Park City. Ski in Ski out. Also walkable to bars and restaurants. I’ve never skied Park City.
I'm not sure what your budget is but we rented a two bedroom at a Marriott timeshare called Summit Watch during Sundance a few years ago. Not exactly ski in ski out but it's 100 yards to the lift, and it's right in the mix of town. You can get one bedrooms there as well. I've been there 4x and love PC, but it is expensive. Of course we rented boards, but the lift tickets are no joke either.
ETA: looking like we may be there in mid Feb as my friend is buying a place.

We prefer canyons village
Westgate, Sundial and Yotel Pad would be my suggestion
Yotel isn’t quite ski in / ski out but none of them are really

Chateau Apres is going to be the cheapest thing that’s close to ski in/ski out plus within walking distance of downtown.

My plan is to ski Crested Butte as much as possible. Real estate is softening in that area due to fire insurance issues and restrictions on STRs. Hopefully some things align so I can grab a place.
I ditched the Ikon pass because the parking and traffic to Winter Park has been just as bad as the tunnel at times. Hopefully I don’t regret it.

South ogden. It's really a great place. And the summers up in the Uintahs are honestly just as good as the winters

Thanks for the Park City info all. What is the best time frame to ski there? Or at least guarantee they have gotten enough snow to ski? How late does their season generally run? Thanks again!

You’re only option for ski school at Park City will be to go through park city mountain unless you want to travel to Woodward or somewhere like Brighton. If you got epic day passes you can get a discount on their lessons.
Are you staying on the canyons Village side or the Park city Mountain side?
For family activities we’ve always enjoyed at least one night down, walking around Main Street, souvenir, shopping, and dinner at Annex burger. The wife and daughter usually make one trip to the outlet malls. One year we went tubing over at Woodward and that was fun, but it can get pricey.
The schedule will come out later, but they are likely to have live music at one of the two resorts and I know there’s fireworks that happen over on the canyons village side as well. I think on Friday nights.
