Breck is a far superior town. Way more to do and places to eat/explore. Hundreds of shops and activities. Its a pretty vibrant little area.
Keystone's river village is a cool area but overall the town is pretty bare bones. It seems to be more of a pure ski town without all the fluff.

Oh, how I miss thee.
Keep having a blast for those of us "stranded" on a 2.5 square mile island in the middle of the North Pacific Ocean.

Steamboat this past week has been pretty amazing. Snowing basically everyday.

We’re looking at Easter for a potential trip to Snowmass. It’s the first week in April. How’s the skiing then normally. Is there chance a lot slopes will be closed?

Even if it doesn’t continue it’s not like it’s going anywhere any time soon

What kinda ski jackets/ pants yall wear ? Thought I could get by this year with some of that cheap no name Amazon stuff but it is falling apart after a couple weeks of wear. Any suggestions on a high quality jacket or set of ski pants ? Thanks in advance

It’s end of season so you can pick up gear on sale. I have Spyder Bibs with a Flylow jacket and hestra mittens.

Kinda what I was thinking. Wasn't sure if now was time to buy or if I should wait til summer. Definitely want some better gear for next time.

Columbia outlet was running awesome deals (think they still are). Got a 3 in 1 ski jacket for like $115 and ski pants for $79. Used em 12 times and 4 washes so far this season and they’ve held up great

Tshirt, Patagonia R1 1/4 zip, Patagonia hooded puffer, Patagonia Snow Drifter jacket. Northface Freedom insulated pants. No base layers. Oyuki gloves. Darn Tough Ultralight socks.
If I’m skiing with the fam, I usually wear the puffer because I stand around a lot more. If I’m by myself or a friend, I don’t wear it unless is cold and blowing really hard and even then I’ll only get a little cold on a long lift. The pants are basic and can feel their limitations when the wind blows. Go very thin on the socks. I’ve been using Smartwools socks probably for 20 years. I got a pair of their PhDs and a pair of Darn Toughs this season. The Darn Toughs are so much better.

For anyone interested in Northface stuff, if you or someone you know is in healthcare, NF offers 50% off full priced items.

Sweet. I just grabbed one of those 3 in 1 "bugaboo II" columbia jackets for 90 bucks. Was highly reviewed on several different sites . Hard to beat 90$ i almost paid that for the shitty knockoff jacket thats falling apart after 2 ski trips.

Always nice to have some fresh stuff but regardless things should be a lot better than my previous trip in January.

Outdoor Research and backcountry.com also have healthcare discounts.

Have any of yall ever skied Ober-Gatlinburg ? Is it decent for like a day perhaps ? The map looks pretty weak.

Snowmass open till 4/18. Spring ski conditions usually at that time of year. Mid 40’s for temps. & the better snow mid Mtn to the top. Slush on the lower Mtn. Was at Snowmass today all day after 8 inches recorded this morning. I’m fortunate I live here with a 4 Mtn pass.
