It isn't exactly YTTV's fault. The channels keep raising their costs so YTTV has to raise their prices.

People like to complain when a carrier drops a channel during a dispute but it needs to happen more often to force the channels to start dropping their prices.

I believe it will be taxed in Louisiana come January as well so it will be higher than that.

Since when weren't cable and internet services taxed and or had fees?

There are taxes on my charter bill.

When I lived in br and had cox there was a taxes and surcharges section on your bill.

You dont need to share passwords, either. You can share with anyone who has a gmail account. They use their own Gmail info to login, not yours. You just have to add their gmail account to your family.

Correct, but more complex: Regardless of plan, out of home(same tv market) family can only use one stream or risk switching home base and nuke owners streams. Out of tv market family can only watch 90 days before checking in at home.

That is incorrect. I have 3 different family members using it quite often and they all live hours away from me. No complications at all. There is no risk of changing home location. It will ask before doing that the first use but just say you are traveling and it will not ask again.

I don't use YTTV myself very often so I have it mostly for them.

Good to know about distance thing, guess they’re bluffing. I meant one stream per user. Maybe they’re not nuking that either anymore? It would still be 3x out of home streams total.

Yes as far as I can tell the out of home limit is three and that is all they monitor. I have had three streams at once going while at my parents house with no issues. They live 2 hours from the home location for the account.

FYI, if you go to cancel and select cost as the reason for cancelling you will get an offer to stay at $72.99 for 6 months.

Those cable companies are still doing it. While it sucks and will cause initial anger, at the end of the day it'll probably still be cheaper than 90% of cable/satellite plans. I'm sticking with YTTV, but often look at cable plans. ~2 years ago, Cox offered their preferred plan for $90 or $95, last year it was $105, now it is $125.

Most people that change, will most likely be shopping around again in another year or so.

I honestly prefer fubo for sports

I like YTTV interface and the multchannel view better. Plus I feel they have more sports channels.

Although I use fubo for Astros during baseball season

I did a trial to see if FUBO would work for my parents who must watch cardinals games. I really liked it but will never convince my other half to change and my parents couldn’t live without cnn and hgtv.
FUBO has unlimited streams standard but any streams away from home can only be on a mobile app and not a roku or tv app.

Most Cardinals games are not included for in-market customers of mlb thing and obv balley as that would be the market. Super headache. Basically, FUBO, cable, directv, or a VPN solution but they don’t want to switch around apps anyway. Cable it is.

i guess it is called fanduelsports now, but I'm pretty sure if you subscribe directly to them (not MLB streaming) you can watch local games through the fansportsduel app on a streaming device.

Not last season anyway. Almost all games were blackout and if you look at forums or even go to their website it says no.
Can get all the royals games you want though.

Can you parents be logged in to an unlimited amount of devices even if they are only streaming max 3 simultaneously?

Wondering if I’d have to login every time I wanted to watch it in a spare bedroom or something or if I could leave it logged in and only use it when needed and I don’t have 3 others going (not that I ever really would)

YouTube TV, when you go to cancel, will offer $10 off per month for the next 6 months.

I learned this after I made the decision to go back to Dish Network.

Had I known this beforehand, I still would have left YouTube TV. I’m tired of the constant increases.

At least with Dish, I will have a set price that will remain the same for then next 2 years.

To be fair, YTTV held their prices for 2 years. 2023 -> 2025.

True, but since their inception, they have doubled their initial pricing model. All by design.

YTTV stays logged in on as many devices as you want from what I can tell. I have about 10 total in 3 different homes with just my account and they never log out
