Would the Surface Pro 4 be a good replacement for a laptop?

I currently have a HP laptop that I've had since ~July 2012. I use it only for web browsing and personal finances (bay bills, track spending, etc).
These two are on sale at Best Buy but not sure the major difference other than the processor. Is the one worth the extra $150?

Big difference in CPU. Get the i5.

Same here. I run an Oracle Enterprise database on it for client demos, so I'm pretty sure it'll suit the OP's performance needs.

Should I get the one with 256GB or 128GB SSD? Is this the available storage space before or after the OS is installed?

I'm wondering about getting a SP4 as well for laptop replacement. Looking at the Surface Book as well but the pricing on those is ridiculous.

I picked up the one with the i5 at COSTCO bundled with the keyboard for $850 plus tax. That is the same price as Best Buy but I get 2 yrs extra warranty for putting it on my COSTCO Visa. I'll report back after I've used it some.

I just picked up a Brydge keyboard for me SP3. It is most certainly a laptop replacement now. I have been impressed with the keyboard, the wedges you have to cram it down into were a little snug at first, but they seem to be loosening up some.
I know the SB would have the lapabilityb(sp) but I have a SP3 and see no need to upgrade right now and this was the next be thing

Return it to Costco asap. The Surface Pro 5 (now just called Surface Pro) just came out with updated processors and increased battery life. Battery life is an incredible 13 hours now.
I have had the Surface Pro 4 for a while now. I have a mixed experience with it. I have no problem with the performance in any way, it's the keyboard I'm not entirely happy with. It's not as convenient as a laptop in all scenarios.
I would also look at the other newly released Surface device - "Surface Laptop". It's a Surface Pro in laptop form factor and a fixed keyboard. If the Surface Laptop was available when I got the Surface Pro 4, I'd have certainly picked that over the 4.

Since buying my 3, I have never felt I needed a laptop.
